What you can expect
Discover the rich history of Osaka on a private tour of the 1,500-year old city. Learn why the city is known as the “nation's kitchen” as you visit Osaka Castle, Kuromon Market, and vibrant Dotonbori. During the day, also have the option to enjoy a delicious lunch of Halal beef sukiyaki.
Your guide picks you up from your hotel and brings you to your first stop at Osaka Castle. Built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who would later help unify Japan in the 16th century, the castle now acts as a historical museum. Tour the impressive stone walls and scenic gardens with your guide, and then move on to Kuromon Market, also known as the kitchen of Osaka. The market, established in the early 1900s, is famous for its fresh seafood that chefs will prepare and cook for you on the spot.
Next, visit the famous street of Dotonbori, passing the scenic Hozenji Temple on the way. Lined with brilliant neon lights and animated, mechanized signs, the bustling street is one of Osaka's most popular tourist destinations and is a great spot for photos. Snap a pic with the iconic Glico Running Man sign before stepping into a restaurant for the chance to try a tasty sukiyaki lunch made with Halal-certified beef, if you choose.
In the afternoon, your journey continues to Shinsaibaishi, a shopping arcade full of brand and boutique stores. Move along to Umeda, where you climb 558 feet (170 m) to the Umeda Sky Building observation deck to see the city from above before head back to your hotel.
