What you can expect
Spend a day exploring 400 years' worth of history in the capital of the Philippines with a private tour to the famous sights of Manila. With your own personal guide to show you around, you get a special kind of insight into the historic landmarks and most interesting parts of the city.
Once you meet your guide, set out from your hotel for your introduction to the epic history of the city. A walk through the original walled quarter introduces you to churches, plazas, and cobbled streets as your guide shares the stories of the Spanish conquistadors and treasure ships who dominated the days of empire.
After a visit to Rizal Park, site of the monument to national hero José Rizal, you visit the old walled city of Intramuros and tour the old Spanish citadel of Fort Santiago. Check out the 16th-century church of San Agustin, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and go for a drive along Ayala Avenue to see the high-rises of the modern commercial and financial district.
Not far from the skyscrapers, you pay a visit to the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, which holds the graves of more than 17,000 American, Filipino, and allied soldiers who died during World War II. Your tour ends with a look at reclaimed areas of the city that feature convention centers, arts venues, and one of the biggest malls in the world before you head back to your hotel.
