What you can expect
This is your tour if you demand both the big sights, as well as a walk on the local side. Your guide will be a native (or honestly native equivalent) English speaker who also speaks Japanese, guaranteed. Native French speaking guides are also available.
The first stop on this 4-hour walking tour is Osaka Castle Park. The castle itself is beautiful on the outside, and in a lovely park. You'll also take in some nice views and be able to immerse yourself in nature. We won't go in to the castle because, well, it doesn't look like a castle, and it's just not worth the time, money, or patience required with the crowds. Trust us.
We say goodbye to the mainstream, and head to Osaka's famous Koreatown, which is actually fairly Japanese at this point, but more importantly a vibrant slice of old Japan. With its narrow pedestrian streets, old architectural wonders, spirited shopkeepers, and tempting foods, it's sure to be memorable.
Further south we go, to Tennoji, where we'll go high (views) and low (delicious food markets). It's local, but on the highbrow side, which makes for a nice contrast with our next stop, Shin-Sekai, a place teeming with classic Osaka entertainment culture and astounding sights galore.
Finally, we end in the Shinsaibashi/Namba area. Here, you can catch the famous “running man” scene at Dotombori, then end with a stroll through some great backstreets.
It's a whirlwind ride for the traveler that wants it all!
