Join the experienced team at Offshore Adventures for an incredible boat-based marine safari in Plettenberg Bay. This 1.5-hour ocean safari starts with a thrilling beach launch, followed by a scenic cruise along the coastline to the Cape fur seal colony at Robberg Nature Reserve. Enjoy front-row seats to watch these playful creatures swim, dive, and interact in their Marine Protected Area home - all while staying completely dry!
Step 1: Welcome & Preparation
Your trip begins at our Central Beach office, where our friendly team will check you in and prepare you for the water. Safety gear and life jackets are provided for all guests to ensure a comfortable and worry-free ocean adventure.
Step 2: Exciting Beach Launch & Coastal Cruise
A short walk to Central Beach to board one of our custom semi-rigid vessels (Robberg Express or Oceanic Express), both holding international Blue Flag certification for top safety and environmental standards. Hold on tight for a thrilling surf launch directly off the beach, followed by a scenic cruise across Plettenberg Bay toward the dramatic cliffs of world-famous Robberg Nature Reserve.
Step 3: Up-Close Seal Observations
Once we arrive at the Marine Protected Area, your skipper will position the boat for optimal, unobstructed views of the colony—home to thousands of Cape fur seals. Watch these curious, acrobatic animals somersault through the water, sunbathe on the rocks, and swim right alongside the vessel, interacting completely on their own terms in the wild.
Step 4: Return Ride & Free Tour Photos
Enjoy the relaxing boat trip back to Central Beach, taking in the spectacular coastline and marine scenery. To help you stay fully present in the moment, our team takes high-resolution action photos throughout the trip, provided to you completely free of charge after the excursion!
