You arrive in Yoshino, a historic area in Nara Prefecture known for its deep cultural roots and natural surroundings. As you step into the restaurant, your guide introduces the setting and walks you through what the session will cover. The venue is a casual sushi or seafood restaurant, the kind of everyday place where local food culture is practiced without formality, giving you a hands-on experience in a relaxed environment.

Your guide demonstrates nigiri technique in front of you, showing how rice is formed and fish is placed. You then replicate each step yourself, shaping and pressing your own nigiri pieces with your guide’s direction. Your guide leads the session in English, clarifies instructions, and is present throughout to answer any questions you have during the session.

By the end of the 90-minute session, you have pressed and assembled a set of nigiri with your own hands. Your guide’s feedback helps you refine your grip and technique as you go, so the pieces you complete reflect genuine progress. You sit down to eat what you have made.
