This tour involves approximately 8,000 steps, covering around 5–6 km (3–4 miles), including a 20–25 minute walk from Nagano Station to the Zenkoji area. The tour may not be suitable for travelers with limited mobility.
Sake Tasting Experience
Visit a historic sake brewery with more than 300 years of brewing history. Taste and compare a selection of local drinks, which may include:
• Unfiltered, unpasteurized, and seasonal sake
• Nagano plum wine with a rich, fruity aroma
• Amazake, a naturally sweet, non-alcoholic fermented rice drinkYour guide will explain how sake is produced, the differences between flavor profiles, and how sake is traditionally enjoyed in Japan.
You will also sample local specialties such as Shinshu miso soup, soy sauce beans, and Japanese pickles. Shinshu miso is one of Nagano’s best-known regional products and is valued for its deep umami flavor.

Visit a preserved former sake factory that is approximately 120 years old. Although it is no longer used for active production, the historic interior offers a fascinating look at traditional sake-making culture.
