So you want to spend a day in the Canadian Rockies, eh?
Here's what to expect:
Your first stop is Johnston Canyon: A treasured trail to locals and natural phenomenon, Johnston Canyon boasts of roaring waterfalls, and stunning ravines. Our favourite part is the cave (if you so choose to enter).
Next, you'll travel into a lesser known Canadian National Park: Yoho National Park. Home to Marble Canyon, you'll notice the landscape change as we enter our neighbouring province, British Columbia.
Although also a canyon, Marble Canyon differs from Johnston Canyon by both depth and perspective. One you walk through the canyon and the other you look down into it.
Both canyons are equally stunning in their own, unique ways.
You'll then spend lunch in the iconic Banff Town. Wander a bit, eat some sweets, try the Beaver Tails. Now's your time to explore.
Surrounding Banff are two often missed destinations that surround the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel: Bow Falls and Surprise Corner. Snap some pics of the surroundings. You'll want to remember these two areas.
Last but not least, you'll visit two locally revered lakes: Lake Minnewanka and Two Jack Lake. Fun Fact: Lake Minnewanka sits where a town once stood. Deep beneath the surface, divers explore the remnants. You'd never expect it though. The landscape is so stunning that you'll often find locals taking engagement and other celebratory pictures here.
Two Jack Lake is a classic. Regardless of where you travel from, it somehow feels like home. The mountain reflection on the still water has a way of making you feel at ease and all your troubles quickly melt away.
You might think we're exaggerating, but for real… there's nothing quite like the smell of fir trees and mountain air.
Overall, this trip truly has a magical feeling with hidden gems, local favourites, and iconic views that all your loved ones will be jealous of.
