The bifana is one of the most popular symbols of Lisbon cuisine: a hot sandwich of marinated pork, crispy bread, rich sauce, and street food flavors.
This exclusive experience takes you where the bifana really shines: in the tascas that serve the locals, especially in the evening.
We'll start in the Mouraria neighborhood, the birthplace of popular fado and street food. Here, we'll introduce you to the ingredients, cuts, marinades, and regional differences of the bifana.
Then we'll head into three authentic places:
Classic bifana with sauce and a small beer (imperial)
Grilled bifana, drier and slightly spicy
Bifana “molhada”, where the bread slowly absorbs the sauce
At the heart of the tour, you'll experience our Bifana Lab:
a small sensory workshop where you can assemble your own bifana by choosing the type of bread, the intensity of the sauce, and traditional condiments such as Lisbon mustard and piri-piri.
Just real life.
