Çukurcuma Hamamı 1831 is a boutique Ottoman-era bathhouse located on the picturesque street of the Museum of Innocence, in the heart of Beyoğlu. Located in the heart of Beyoğlu and within walking distance of both Taksim and Karaköy, it offers a quiet sanctuary in one of Istanbul’s most vibrant and historic neighborhoods.
Perfect for couples, close friends, or solo explorers seeking both cultural depth and relaxation, this traditional Turkish hammam ritual blends centuries-old practices with elegant, modern comfort.
Your journey begins with a 10-minute steam and sweat session beside the marble water basin (kurna), helping to open pores and ease the body into stillness. This is followed by a 30-minute hammam treatment, including a full-body exfoliation using your own kese mitt and a luxurious aromatic foam massage on the heated Göbektaşı. The final step is a calming scalp cleanse using handmade, olive oil soap sourced from the groves of Cunda and Ayvalık.
Following your treatment, you are guided to the serene Camekanlık lounge to rest, hydrate, and fully absorb the ritual. Here, herbal tea, dried fruits, detox water, and cold towels are offered. Take your time in the lounge, where you’re welcome to rest for 15 minutes or as long as you need to carry the tranquility with you.
