Overview

This 2-day tour invites you to discover the Quebrada de Humahuaca, a World Heritage Site, with unique landscapes, history and culture. You will visit Purmamarca and its famous Cerro de los Siete Colores, Maimará with the Palettes of the Painter, and Tilcara, where you can know the Pucará (not included). In Uquía you will enjoy its cultural tradition, and in Humahuaca, history and modernity combine. One of the most striking moments will be the Cerro de Hornocal, known as the “Cerro de los 14 Colores”, with its incredible natural tones. The tour also includes the Salinas Grandes, an immense salt flat of surreal beauty. During the trip, you will get to know the local culture, its crafts and gastronomy.
IMPORTANT : If you visit Hornocal, you will need to bring a food, as you will not have the two hours free for lunch in Humahuaca.

Once you arrive in Uquía, you will transfer to a 4x4 vehicle where you will begin the road to Hornocal to enjoy these magnificent panoramic views. Back you make a stop in Humahuaca for 20 minutes. It is recommended to bring some lunch or something light for lunch as there is no time to stop at a restaurant in Humahuaca.

We will leave from the city of Salta, exiting through the central access of the city, taking the RN 9 and then entering the municipality of General Güemes, by the RN 34. Afterwards we enter the province of Jujuy, where we will have the opportunity to know a little bit of the Quebrada de Humahuaca, passing through picturesque towns such as Yala, Volcano (technical stop) and Purmamarca where we will find the majestic Cerro de los 7 Colores.

Purmamarca

First stop in the village of Purmamarca to have a panoramic photo of the route, in front of the village, as the position of the sun in the morning radically changes its colors. At this first stop we will be approximately 20 minutes.

We enter the incredible Lipan Hill, where we will take 4,170 meters above sea level and can appreciate its spectacular flora and fauna. It is a winding high mountain road, majestic with its green and brown colors showing us the beautiful landscapes of the puna.

We arrive at the third largest salt flat in Latin America where we will be between 45 minutes to 1 hour free, to be able to tour the salt pools, sculptures, salt restaurant and take amazing photos in this huge salt flat in northern Argentina.
