What you can expect
Embark on an invigorating trek and tour a series of sustainable purveyors during a full-day excursion from Albany. At the top of Castle Rock, venture out onto the popular Granite Skywalk before indulging in a winetasting at a local winery.
Depart Albany at the break of day to make the most of your time in the Porongurups. Leave the coast behind and climb into the Porongurup Range, landing at Castle Rock. At the trailhead, lace up your hiking boots and launch a 2.6-mile (4.2-km) trek through the biologically diverse forest. At the summit, venture onto the Granite Skywalk, a manmade catwalk that simulates the experience of rock climbing and rewards intrepid visitors with views of the region's vast, undulating farmland and far-off Mount Gardner and Mount Manypeaks.
Following your physical activities, head to Ironwood Estate. Meet the vineyard owners at the cellar door and indulge in an unforgettable tasting. Before moving on, treat yourself to an alfresco lunch at the vineyard cafe, pairing your meal with another glass of fine wine.
