Start your journey at Domingo Atienza with Calle Caracoles in San Pedro de Atacama. From there, we'll head towards the stunning Valle de la Luna, a landscape of salt, clay, and minerals sculpted over millions of years. Begin with a hike up the Gran Duna, where you'll see the impressive layers of its formation and enjoy panoramic views of the Cordillera de la Sal, Cordillera de Domeyko, and the Andes mountains, including the vast Salar de Atacama.
Next, visit the iconic Tres Marías, natural sculptures named by Father Gustavo Le Paige. Learn about their significance to the native Licanantay people, who called them “The Watchers.” Continue to Mina Victoria to discover the history of salt mining in the region and see the remnants of this once-thriving industry.
Afterward, we'll head to the Valley of Death, where a special table will be set for you to rest, enjoy a snack, and toast to the journey. Finally, experience the highlight of the tour: a breathtaking sunset at Piedra del Coyote. Capture the vivid colors of the desert sky and create lasting memories of this magical moment.
The tour includes transport in a Mercedes Benz Sprinter, a bilingual guide (Spanish and English), snacks, and a cocktail. Remember to bring sunglasses, a hat, walking shoes, long-sleeved shirts and pants, a jacket, sunscreen, and 2 liters of water. This tour ends back at your starting point in San Pedro de Atacama, around half a day later.
