Set off early in the morning from Djerba at 6:30 a.m. in a 4x4 to make the most of your day in the desert.
Cross the famous Roman road that connects the island to the mainland — it also supplies Djerba with fresh water through a long underground pipeline.
As you head toward Médenine, enjoy beautiful landscapes of olive groves stretching to the horizon. The road winds through rocky hills before reaching the first dunes at the entrance of Ksar Ghilane, where the Sahara begins to unfold.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant nestled at the foot of the dunes, in a unique and peaceful setting. In the Ksar Ghilane oasis, relax under the palm trees or take a dip in the natural hot spring.
If you wish, you can add a touch of adventure with an optional camel ride (€15/hour) or quad ride (€30/hour) to the ancient Roman fort of Tisavar.
In the afternoon, begin your return journey to Djerba, stopping at Ksar Hallouf — an impressive Berber granary that offers insight into local architecture and desert life.

• Pick-up at 6:30 a.m. from your accommodation in Djerba.
• Departure by 4x4 towards Médenine.
• Drive to Ksar Ghilane, an oasis surrounded by vast dunes of golden sand of the Sahara
• Lunch at a local restaurant at the foot of the dunes.
• Optional activities:
