Discover the art of traditional Chinese batik in this hands-on workshop experience in Chengdu.

Unlike other dyeing techniques that rely on folding or tying, batik uses a wax-resist process, where melted wax is carefully applied to fabric to create patterns before dyeing. This allows for more controlled and detailed designs.
Begin with a short introduction to batik materials and techniques, then choose your preferred pattern style.

With step-by-step guidance, you will draw or apply wax onto the fabric, then dye it, watching the patterns appear as the wax resists the color — no experience needed.
This process offers a more precise and design-oriented experience, combining creativity with technique.

At the end of the session, your finished batik piece will be ready to take home as a unique handmade textile.
