Guided Tour:
The guided tour is conducted by Polyxeni Giouri (Poly). She has deep family roots on the island dating back to the 19th century, has studied and worked in Athens, and completed her studies in Greek culture at the Hellenic Open University of Greece. Her love for the island and her enthusiasm are evident throughout the tour. She has conducted research on the history of the area, and in addition to the legends, myths, and stories, you will learn detailed information from reliable sources, dating back to 3000 BC to the present.
Museum:
The Folégandros museum began its operation in the summer of 1988 and belongs to the Cultural Association “Folégandros.” Throughout its history, Folégandros was a small island on the periphery, lost in the Aegean, and did not participate in the political and cultural developments of Hellenism. Its remote location and terrain made it one of the worst places for exile. In the museum, visitors will experience how a 19th-century family survived on the island. It is a fully equipped house with all the tools, kitchen, clothes, and everything they used at that time to survive on the island with their own efforts since communication was almost non-existent.
