Description

Experience a true slice of island culture and tradition at the Ali’I Luau—awarded the “Kahili Award” for most authentic Hawaiian luau. Explore replicas of 6 different Polynesian villages, participate in cultural activities, feast on traditional dishes, and enjoy a spectacular evening performance.

When you arrive at the Polynesian Cultural Center, hop into a canoe and take a leisurely paddle through the palm-lined lagoon that runs through the center of the park. Along the banks are 6 different villages to visit, each representative of one Polynesian culture.

Open a coconut with the Samoans, spin poi with the Maori, play drums with the Tongans, examine Fijian weaponry, throw a Tahitian spear, or shake your hips like a Hawaiian, all while learning about the customs of each group.

When you’re done exploring the center, sit down to the Ali’I Luau royal banquet, a celebratory meal traditionally used to honor guests and commemorate special events. Enjoy succulent kalua pork—cooked in an underground oven called an imu and served in true Polynesian style—along with teriyaki beef, shoyu chicken, and fresh local fish.

After you’ve had your fill, watch a riveting and unforgettable performance of Ha: Breath of Life. Featuring 120 performers and 10 fire knife dancers, this breathtaking performance showcases the dance, music, and legends of the islands.
