Our meeting point is at 9:45 a.m. at the well-known Seekirchlein (lake chapel) right in Seefeld. After a short welcome and a mandatory bike check, we'll set off right away, and shortly thereafter, we'll be immersed in the surrounding mountain forests. On our way to Scharnitz, we get our first impression of this expansive alpine landscape and its diversity. Primeval forests, babbling brooks and open meadows constantly alternate, time and again offering completely new backdrops. After Scharnitz, we follow the natural course of the crystal-clear Isar River to Mittenwald to visit the wildly romantic Lautersee there. After circling it, we will set off again for Tyrol, passing the deeply incised Geisterklamm gorge, which we can pay a brief visit to if we feel like it. The rest of the return journey, always along the Leutascher Ache river, finally takes us to the periodically occurring Lottensee and Wildmoossee lakes and the Wildmoos moorland area. This section gives us another glimpse of a completely different side of this varied region before we return to our starting point.
