Accompanied by our tour guide, we will discover the monuments and traditions of this delightful seaside city, which has always been an important trading hub. We will start at the Stazione Marittima, a masterpiece by architect Zaha Hadid, and then cross Svoboda Square, which offers a panoramic view of the entire city: from the beautiful waterfront promenade, Arechi Castle, and the elegant 20th-century buildings overlooking the sea. We will venture into the narrow streets of the medieval historic center to discover the secrets of the city, which is famous for the Schola Medica Salernitana.
We will continue on to San Pietro a Corte, the palace of Arechis II, a Lombard prince, and, via Via dei Mercanti, we will reach the Cathedral, a highly significant Romanesque monument with its beautiful atrium, exquisite pulpits, and magnificent crypt dedicated to the Apostle and Evangelist St. Matthew.
