What you can expect

  • 1: Start the tour at Jaswant Thada, a cenotaph in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Maharaja Sardar Singh of Jodhpur State built it in 1899 in memory of his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. It serves as the cremation ground for the royal Rajput family of Marwar. Duration: 30 minutes.
2: Mehrangarh Fort is a historic fort in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, associated with the Rathore clan. It stands on a hilltop, rising about 122 m (400 ft) above the surrounding plains, and the complex spans 1,200 acres (486 hectares). It was initially built around 1459 by the Rajput ruler of Rathore clan Rao Jodha, though most of the existing structure is from the 17th century built by his successors. The fort has seven gates, which includes main entrance Jai Pol (meaning 'victory gate'), built by Maharaja Man Singh to commemorate his victories over the Jaipur and Bikaner armies in 1806. The Fattehpol (lit. 'victory gate'), commemorates victory of Maharaja Ajit Singh over the Mughals.[4]Duration 2 hours)

3: After visiting the fort, take a short walk downtown and visit Toorji Ka Jhalra, an 18th-century sandstone stepwell in Jodhpur. Duration: 30 minutes.
4: Visit the Clock Tower and market. Duration: 30 minutes.
Head to the Clock Tower lying in close proximity to the Sardar Market to witness its old-world charm. Also referred to as Ghanta Ghar, the Clock Tower is a 115-year-old structure that invites people to enjoy a 360-degree view of the city from the top.

Watch artisans at work. Many of the shops in the market have workshops attached to them where you can see craftsmen creating beautiful handicrafts using traditional techniques.
Check out the amazing handbags and scarves to complement your overall attire. Not only do they look amazing but are also worth every single penny.
Buy tea leaves to give a kick-start to your day with a fresh cup of tea every morning. Right from ginger tea, Assam tea, Kashmiri Kahwa, Darjeeling Tea, and masala mix, the Sardar Market presents all types of tea for tea lovers.
