Devon House (Pass by)
The former home of George Stiebiel, described as Jamaica's first black millionaire, is now one of the few public green spaces left in Kingston. and is also curated as a national heritage site. The surrounding grounds hold several world class eateries such as The Grog Shoppe, Norma's on Terrace and Devon House Bakery. Devon House was also selected "4th Best Place in the World" to enjoy ice cream by National Geographic's 'Food Journeys of a Lifetime' publication in 2011. Also there is a Devon House mansion tour where guests can peek into each room, including the beautifully designed and maintained dining room, master bedroom and elegant ballroom. and also see the original location of the National Gallery of Jamaica
Jamaica National Gallery (Pass by)
Located on the Kingston Waterfront, the National Gallery of Jamaica was established in 1974 and is the oldest and largest public art museum in the Anglophone Caribbean. The National Gallery of Jamaica features a comprehensive collection of early, modern and contemporary art from Jamaica along with smaller Caribbean and international holdings. A significant part of its collections is on permanent view. The National Gallery of Jamaica also has an active exhibition programme, which includes retrospectives of work by major Jamaican artists, thematic exhibitions, guest-curated exhibitions, touring exhibitions that originate outside of the island, and its flagship exhibition, the Kingston Biennial.
