Immerse yourself in the natural wonders of Chiapas on a day trip to some of its most stunning bodies of water. Admire the thundering cascade of the El Chiflón waterfalls, and then spend the rest of the day discovering the blue and green splendor of the Lagos de Montebello.

Set out from a central meeting point in San Cristobal, before your driver takes you into the forest to El Chiflón, where 5 waterfalls erupt out of the hillside and into cerulean pools below.

Next, head further to Chiapas' breathtaking lake district known as Lagos de Montebello. Among lush jungle and forests of oak and pine, a constellation of lakes dots the landscape. Marvel at the varying hues of the waters, which range from brilliant turquoise to soft jade green. After visits to several of the lakes, head back to San Cristobal in the early evening.
