What connects the third-largest square in Italy to the lordship of the House of Pio di Savoia? But most of all, did you know that in 17th-century Carpi we find the long hand of the Inquisition? We look forward to your visit to the small capital of the Po Valley, starting from the Palazzo dei Pio, a castle complex full of mysteries and secrets and home to the ghost of the "White Lady", and then exploring its main monuments to discover the magic and interesting facts related to their history. We will visit the Cathedral of the Assumption, built on a model inspired by Raphael's design for St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, and strolling alongside the Portico Lungo, we will arrive in Piazzale Re Astolfo to admire the Romanesque parish church of Santa Maria in Castello, known as "la Sagra", and its 49.50-meter bell tower.
