Arrive at Alexandria around 9.30 am it takes about 2:30 hour . Start the tour with Pompey Pillar. Has nothing to do with Pompey .The story behind the name refers to the possible burial ground of the Roman general when he fled to Egypt and was assassinated after losing a major battle in Greece against Caesar. The red granite column was probably built to honor Emperor Diocletian. Today it stands 25 meters high and is the tallest ancient monument in Alexandria.

Archaeologists believe that the catacomb of Kom el Shoqafa was started in the 2nd century A.D. and was used to intern the dead for the next 200 years. this was a period in the history of the city of Alexandria when there was a great mixture of different cultures. Of course, there was the ancient history of the great Egyptian kingdoms which went back thousands of years.

then you will visit the The Roman Theater made out of marble stones and the floor it has a big Section of mosaic. We will walk by the excavation site of the Old Roman City of Alexandria, including Roman villas, the Amphitheater Ruins, Alexandria's Great Tomb excavation site, and various ruins. Please note that we will not be visiting the interior of these sites but will enjoy an external view while our guide shares insights into their historical significance.

Continue to see the outside of Quaitbay castle which was built on the same site as the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria one of the seven wonders of ancient world . A most spectacular castle which is a great photo stop. Then you will have Lunch during the day in a local restaurant and the lunch is included but Beverages are not.

Visit President Sadat Museum and visit the open court where you can see the statue of Alexander the Great and the statue of Ptolemy the first, which was found underwater nearby. Our guide will explain the design of the library from outside, you will have a chance for some photo stops. Note: Alexandria library is closed on Fridays ,Saturdays & in public holidays. To enter the reading area you will need to purchase a ticket.
