As you arrive Wangdue, hike along the Metshina village to Chimi lhakhang, a solitary “fertility temple” where a childless couple who comes to pray is usually blessed with a child.

Visit the Punakha Dzong, "Palace of the Great Happiness". This beautiful fortress lies between two rivers, the Pochu and Mochu, male and female river.

Walk on the 200m suspension bridge above Phochu river to Gidagom village .

Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten is a stunning Buddhist temple located in the Punakha Valley of Bhutan. It is one of the most unique and beautiful temples in the country, known for its intricate architecture, stunning views, and peaceful atmosphere. History of Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten was built in 1993 by the Queen Mother of Bhutan, Ashi Tshering Yangdon Wangchuck. The temple was built to bring peace and prosperity to Bhutan and to protect the country from negative energies. It took four years to build the temple, with a team of 100 Bhutanese artisans working tirelessly to complete it.

Ta Dzong is a historic watchtower located in the town of Paro, Bhutan. It is one of the most iconic landmarks in the region and is a popular tourist attraction. The watchtower was built in the 17th century to defend Paro Rinpung Dzong, the nearby fortress and monastery. In the 1960s, the watchtower was converted into the National Museum of Bhutan, showcasing a collection of artifacts and exhibits that highlight the cultural and historical heritage of the country. The museum’s exhibits include traditional Bhutanese art, textiles, weapons, and household objects, as well as exhibits on the country’s flora and fauna.

Paro Rinpung Dzong is a historic fortress and Buddhist monastery located in the Paro Valley of Bhutan. It is a popular tourist attraction and considered one of the finest examples of Bhutanese architecture. The dzong was built in the 17th century to defend the Paro Valley against Tibetan invaders and has since served as the administrative and religious center of the Paro district. The dzong’s name means “Fortress of the Heap of Jewels” and it is famous for its stunning paintings, intricate woodwork, and traditional Bhutanese architecture. Visitors can explore the dzong’s courtyards, temples, and administrative offices, and gain insight into Bhutanese history and culture. The dzong is also the venue for the famous Paro Tsechu festival, a colorful and vibrant annual event that celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Bhutan.

Kyichu Lhakhang, is an ancient Buddhist temple located in the Paro Valley of Bhutan. It is considered one of the oldest and most sacred temples in the country, and is an important site for pilgrimage and religious practice. The temple was built in the 7th century by the Tibetan Emperor Songtsen Gampo, who is believed to have built 108 temples throughout the region to subdue a giant demoness that was obstructing the spread of Buddhism. Kyichu Lhakhang is one of the two temples that he built in Bhutan, the other being Jambay Lhakhang in Bumthang. Kyichu Lhakhang has undergone several renovations and expansions over the centuries, with the most recent one being carried out in the 1970s by the third king of Bhutan, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. The temple houses many sacred relics and artifacts, including an image of Jowo Sakyamuni, the Buddha, and a statue of Chenrezig, the Bodhisattva of Compassion.

After a wholesome breakfast, spend the day hiking up the forested path to Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger’s Nest, Bhutan’s most famous and scenic icon. Tiger’s Nest clings to sheer cliffs of 900m above Paro valley. The climb is steep and takes about 4-5hrs round trip. (Ponies & horses optional) • Lunch at the hillside cafe with close Tiger’s Nest view. • In evening, authentic Bhutanese farewell dinner at a typical village home with local liquor called “Ara.” • Hot stone bath, optional.
