Hill Country training camp
The property was located very conveniently to Wimberley and some nice restaurants and cafes and trails. Generally, the house was in good condition. Some of the furniture was well beyond its useful life, though. And two of the four bed mattresses just need to be replace. We all had a really fun week though.

Great location!
Great for our girls’ getaway! We could have walked to town but preferred the short drive. We were so happy to have king beds in every bedroom. Thanks for a lovely weekend!

Mixed reviews
Stay was great , ac units did not work properly . Property itself was not worth the money spent . A bit old , dirty and could use reinvestment . The pool was a highlight but everything was a bit subpar for the price paid . It was good for a family get away but left a lot to be desired .

This is a fantastic town to visit in the hill country. The house was not what we expected for the price per night that we paid. One section of the home had no AC and the parts that did have it could not keep up. Management sent a message that they just discovered this issue but comments by other guests prove it was an existing issue. Charged a large cleaning fee and house was not clean by any standards. Old stained linens on beds and in bathrooms, and cobwebs in every corner of the house. Not a pleasant stay in the Texas heat, but we love Wimberly and will be back. Just not at this home.

Birthday getaway
We rented the property for a family weekend/birthday celebration. The home had so much to offer for families! We were all adults, with one toddler, but if you have teens this place would be it! We are kids at heart so we did partake in the games available. Great location! They added a covered arbor at the end of the pool, which is not in the photos, and that was perfect! We used the grill, saw deer, and had an all around great time! Highly recommended!!

Family summer
Nice location. Walking distance to downtown. The house was nice except for the air conditioning. Back bedrooms and bedroom by the pool were extremely humid. Ran the air constantly but no relief. I would recommend bringing fans for those rooms. Some of our family members ended up sleeping on couches. Lots of things to do in Wimberley and location is close to it all.

Best Friend Birthday Get Away
This place was perfect! The house was clean, the area was quiet and peaceful. There are plenty of activities nearby but we choose to just stay at the house and relax in the pool. Perfect girls trip!!

Good news, bad news
Good location, adequate room for 8 adults. River was covered with scum so we couldn't get in or enjoy the view. Nice pool. The middle BR mattress had a huge hole in the middle & the AC rattled so badly we had to turn it off. It was a real problem. The LR sofa sags terribly & needs to be replaced. Back BR AC was inadequate. Thankfully, we brought our own fan. TV only offered streaming apps, no cable. The check in codes didn't work so they had to be changed twice. We all felt that we paid top dollar for a mediocre house. I would not stay there again, especially at that price.

The house worked out beautiful for our needs. We had six adults and two small children. We live bed seeing the deer in the property and chasing lighting bugs at night. The pool made it bearable with the heat this week of over 100 degrees.

Close to town but very peaceful.
This is our second year to stay at this property. We were able to walk into town but far enough away you don’t hear the road noise. I saw deer, a fox and armadillo on my morning walk. The kids enjoyed the pool and creek. We would definitely recommend.

Great, unique property!
We enjoyed our stay at this property, lots of space and well stocked. The main house is a unique setup, but it worked for our group. The third bedroom in the main house is either accessed through the second bedroom, or from an exterior door around the side of the house. This wasn't a big deal except when it was raining... The pool was awesome, but I do wish the spa was a working hot tub. Beautiful property and we had a great time!

Girls weekend on the creek
Great location, plenty of space and comfy beds. We loved the air hockey table. As in other reviews, a new couch is desperately needed. This would be a great summer house. Plenty of activities to keep entertained and a pool to keep cool.

This property was so close to everything we wanted to do! We enjoyed the house very much. It was clean and provided a lot of games for families to enjoy. The pool was great, it was a bit of a disappointment that the hot tub was broken. We did enjoy sitting out by the creek, it was nice and peaceful. I would recommend this house to anyone who was visiting Wimberley TX.

Rock House 2022 July vacation
The pictures posted are probably somewhat dated. The online listing does not mention that the house has a strange layout where you have to pass through the second bedroom to get to the 3rd bedroom but we are all family so it worked out ok., however the mattresses on the second bedroom had a big hole in the middle of the bed bigger than a grown person. The house does not have central AC and is difficult to keep cool. There were a few maintenance issue and in there defense we did not report them until we left. If you book the house check on the creek, it was pretty gross. The best part were the deer that came up every morning and evening. We made the best of our stay and had a good time.

Great retreat from the real world
This was an amazing property slightly off the beaten path, but close enough to still jump back into reality when you want to. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to escape for a little while.

A very large house on the creek and walkable to downtown Wimberly.
The property sleeps many more people than we had. We made a campfire, swam in the pool, used the canoes, watched movies and relaxed. It was awesome!

Nice mini getaway
House was over all clean. There were a few things left untidy that I didn’t care for , one being a dirty trash can lid, and cigarette butts left out my the pool in ashtray but other than that it was a nice stay. The description of outside says there is a privacy fence , but that is only on one side , the other side is only a regular fence , which I don’t care for. The neighbors weren’t a bother at all but I would have preferred a privacy fence on both sides. We were there in October and it was still warm . The house has strange air conditioning, it’s not central air . It took a while to get the house cool . I wonder how it cools in the hottest months of summer . The area was perfect for shopping in the heart of Wimberly which is an adorable town. We had a lot of fun there shopping and eating .

Pictures are best day 5-10 years ago
We were aware of the odd layout in advance, and it would have been challenging with anyone besides our immediate family. Clearly we have different levels of expectations of cleanliness and indoor conditions than other renters. The place is full of dusty, musty furnishings and lived-in feeling that far exceeds the date of the pictures online. Thankfully the weather was fantastic and we were able to open the doors. Alas, without screen doors, the mosquitos joined us inside - one finding my right cheek while sleeping. The pluses - close to town, on the creek, lots of games - loved Ms Pac-Man, good TV in the former sleeping porch, fire pit, and we loved watching the deer pass through. We also had issues with the heater, but with the required 11 am departure, we weren't cold for long. The management company was cordial on the phone but we were given different guidelines by two different people which we found frustrating. As active renters in Texas and other states, we found their tone and rules not renter friendly.

Weekend Getaway
We came for a weekend trip with our family - adults and kids all the way down to an infant. The house was roomy, clean, and provided so much entertainment. Some reviews said the layout of the house was weird, but it did not bother us at all. If anything, we loved the layout. The HUGE master suite was perfect for an entire family by itself. Our kids and us were all able to spread out in the master, leaving three more bedrooms for others. We simply loved the house and it’s history. The pool casita is awesome, too! We kayaked on the river, swam in the pool, played pool, and so many other provided games! The location could not have been better. Just a short drive to the square (really you could easily walk). We sat outside by the river and enjoyed the fireflies and herds of deer that came at dusk. A great trip!!

One of the bathrooms was not useable unless you used the toilet plunger on both the inside and the outside cleanout pipe with every use. Read the fine print on the hot tub the pictures show a hot tub with the pool but the hot tub does not work. I did find buried in the fine print that said there was no hot tub

Great property for family gathering
Our family had a terrific time at this full-of-charachter creekside Vrbo. Loved the homey decor. Location was great, close enough to town for the more active among us to walk. The layout was a little quirky (one bedroom was through another, glass-less windows between some rooms, one giant bdr looked like it used to be a living room) but it provided the perfect amount of space for the eight of us to spread out, and tons of activities to keep everyone occupied (video games, table games, musical instruments, watercraft). The kitchen was well outfitted for cooking and the pool house room had a second coffee maker. Don't count on an early check-in, even if no one has rented the night before. The management company wasn't able to tell us until the moment it was available, 40 minutes early, which didn't help much as everyone was driving from hours away and had to make plans much earlier than that. (Note that late check out is for a fee.) The pool bedroom was a little musty, with a good bit of dust behind bed (I dropped my glasses), but the main house didn't seem to have any of that. Over all it was a perfect spot for our family get together! (Oh, and the property management company offered discounts at some area activities - we loved the zip lining!)

Overall, Great Property
Over all, I would stay again. The set up of the house is a little weird. The big master bed room does not it own bathroom, but was a big private area. . No biggie really. We had realized that before we arrived. Now the other 2 bedrooms in the main house where little less private. It worked for us, but you have to walk thru one bedroom to get to the other. My husband & I were going to take the master BR, but due to it being connected to the other bed room where the kids had to sleep we had to change with another family who didn't not want to conjoining rooms. It was understandable due to she may have wanted to go to bed early while the youngers ones where still up. Living room had huge windows, that we loved. We could sit on the back patio an still see the kids paying in the house. The back patio has a fire ring, That was nice for the cool nights. Also in the pictures the back patio/fire ring look far from the house, but its right out the back door. Same with the creek, its just right past the patio. We loved to sit out at night and see all the deer come up, raccoons a fox and an armadillo. Kids loved it. Pool was cloudy when we got there, no jets were running. We were concerned , we text the property mangers and the pool guys came out. Jets are on a timer and they had just treated the pool. Nest few days it was fine. We never figured out the Master BR TV. The property & house could use a good cleaning. If your trying to figure out where the pool sits, its in the front yard, but you still have lots of privately. Tree limbs were hanging pretty low in the drive that we couldn't pull up all the way. Also the back creek side needs some trimming. Overall we had a great time.

Property has a weird layout. No closet or ensuite bath in master. The pool table, gameroom and video games were great for the kids. Enjoyed the pool and kayaks. Location is top notch. Only thing missing was a hot tub and it would have been perfect. Only problems we had were with the master TV never got it working. Batteries for remote did not fix problem. Also needed batteries for casita TV and that fixed the problem. Had problem twice with the main house lock. When trying to open it would make noise like it was trying to unlock but would not. Other than that place was ideal and we had a great time.

Met up with extended family and really enjoyed the weekend. The backyard fire pit area was our favorite place to hang out. There was also so much wildlife- very evening a family of about 10 deer would wander the yard, big fat raccoons, and a fox.

Covid get away at the sock House
Nice visit! Cypress Creek is beautiful and access is right there in your backyard. Canoe and several kayaks made it even more fun. Pool was a plus too, very clean. House is very eclectic with old radio and video machine and other interesting Items. The house could have used a good dusting but otherwise clean. Nice that were soaps in the showers and hand soaps at each sink. . Kitchen was adequately equipped and it had a great grill by the pool. Huge washer and dryer! Fun to watch the deer come by at night and watch the cardinals in the morning. Great family time during this Covid-19 year

Would love to give an excellent review, but...
This house and location are awesome. The layout is PERFECT for extended family get togethers. Walking distance to town square is reasonable. Unfortunately, the main living areas and master suite did not have working heaters. I called the management company and left a message, with no call back. Thankfully, my husband and I had the option of staying in the casita. The next day, I kept trying to call the management company but the phone calls would not go through. I finally sent a text regarding the heating issue to which I received a call back and hour later. During this hour, we had looked online for the manual to the heaters, and tried resetting the breaker box. By the time they called back, those heaters had begun working. The response was along the lines of, “great,so you’re fine then.” I said I needed a manager to call us back. My husband and I had come a day earlier than the rest of our family for quiet time by ourselves but instead spent the majority of that time trying to get the heaters to work. I was called later, AFTER HOURS, by management, who after expressed my frustration said they did not have an after hours repairman that could assist us. She then said she would change the lock passcodes, refund our money, and we could just go to a hotel. I was appalled. I’ve been coming to Wimberley for many years and have always had an amazing experience with both the property owners and property management company. I ended up disconnecting the call. NOT surprisingly, those same heaters stopped functioning again that night. The remainder of my family had arrived and after trying the breaker reset again without any luck, we ended up turning the oven on and cracking the door to have heat. I was the person responsible for this years valentine weekend with my husband’s sisters and spouses. Thankfully, everyone loved Wimberley, the remaining aspects of the house were spectacular, and a good time was had by all. I highly recommend this property after they resolve the heating issues and improve management customer service. One last comment is that the “hot tub” that appears in the photos is not a hot tub, but rather a spa. That means it’s not heated. However, the weekend had freezing temps so none of us were disappointed. LOL! However, it needs to be noted. This is an awesome property and I hope the issues get resolved soon.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the layout of the home and the accommodations as a whole. We are sorry that you had the frustration with the heaters during your stay. At Hill Country Premier Lodging we make every effort to ensure all features are in good working order prior to guest arrival and our opening inspection everything was documented and photographed as functioning properly (AC units and heaters are checked as part of our standard opening procedures). When our team offered to send someone out to check the units when our office was contacted, we were advised it was working so no one needed to be sent. When we were contacted after hours and addressed in an aggressive and hostile manner while trying to assist we offered to release the guest from their reservation since they were so unhappy and not willing to discuss any options that didn't involve a significant refund (which was already provided for the inconvenience of the previous evening). This offer was declined and the guest chose to complete their stay. After they departed the home owner evaluated the heater made the necessary adjustments. (Being a small town, it can be difficult or impossible to get vendors such as HVAC technicians out after their normal business hours). The assessment of the spa connected to the pool is totally accurate. This is not a listed amenity due to it being heated by propane which is prohibitively expensive.

Fun in Wimberley
Overall the house was perfect for our family of 8! We loved the creek in the back of the house - it was perfect for young kids (2, 3 and 4) because it was shallow enough for them to play in but also high enough for us to kayak and paddle board. Pool was great also. The house has an odd layout, but it worked just fine and there was plenty of rooms and beds, especially with the Casita. Everything seemed to be in good working order except the bathroom in the back bedroom. The bathroom never cooled off - it didn’t feel like it was getting any air and while we were cleaning up on the last day, we noticed that the sink in that back bathroom never drained from one person washing their hands and brushing their teeth the first day. So, the back bathroom could definitely use some work, but we didn’t even need to use it between the front bathroom and Casita. Overall, we had a great time and the proximity to the downtown and water activities can’t be beat!

Great location
This house is in a wonderful location and we loved having access to the creek. The house is well equipped with kayaks and a standing paddleboard. All in all we had a wonderful trip. The house itself has a strange layout that would have been good to know before we booked. The master is gigantic but does not include a bathroom. The master bathroom is off the kitchen, which is a little strange. Also, the other two bedrooms are attached, so you have to walk through one to get to the other one. The good news is that there is a small bathroom attached to the back bedroom. The pool house is great and if two families are staying together, it's probably a better option for a master than the one in the house. Finally, the pool is pretty old and had a filter issue when we were there. The water was ok to swim in but it was cloudy. We stayed over a holiday weekend, so it was really expensive and we may look for something less expensive next time given some of these issues with the layout and pool.

Nice for a big family on a summer escape, really 3 1/2 stars...
We enjoyed a quiet week in Wimberley, playing with our family of 8 in the pool, creek, and surrounding areas. the kayaks and canoe were in good repair. We saw lots of wildlife, such as deer, fox, armadillo, hummingbirds and armadillo. The pool was still comfortable in mid-July, and the house was cool and comfortable. (The weather was about 100* every day we visited.) The furnishings of the house are nice and the TV's and wi-fi worked fine. The only negative I have is there is a true lack of storage. No closet, dresser, luggage rack, or bathroom in the "master", which is clearly a converted room. No dresser or luggage rack in the second bedroom. We rented the house for a week, and had to live out of our suitcases. All the pantry shelves were full on our arrival. We shoved stuff around to fit our own groceries. The refrigerator only has one shelf (two surfaces), and the fridge door compartments were missing their fronts, so that was unusable space.
