not a top choice for valpo
pros:
beautiful views
Friendly staff who worked to sort out various issues we had
Good location to food and shops
Cons:
The Hotels.com listing misled us to believe the room we booked would have 2 queen beds. The hotel was able to add a twin bed to the room for us.
The shower was hard to use and sprayed water everywhere
A bit awkward going in and out since concierge had to unlock the gate for you each time
Didn’t feel like a ton of value for the expensive room rate
I was scammed by this hotel. I had booked a “2 queen bed, double room, for 2 people”. When I arrived they put me (a male) and my (male) friend in a room with just one bed. They told us that the hotel does not have rooms with 2 beds. They wanted us to buy a separate room. Then they told us they could “upgrade” us to a room with two single beds (by breaking down a king bed into 2 single beds) for an extra $30 dollars. Reluctantly we paid the $30 dollars for the room with 2 single beds. This was not our fault. This was an error of the hotel. I should not have had to pay the $30 dollars.

Dear Caleb, good afternoon, We are very sorry for the situation, however I will explain that there was no scam in your reservation, all our rooms are double rooms except one. You made a reservation through Expedia, in which you reserved a double room with bowindow, which is a room with a double bed and is specified in your reservation. The room you booked has a wonderful view of the sea and the hills. When you arrived at the hotel, we realized that you wanted 2 separate beds in the same room, and when you had reserved a room with a double bed, you were offered two alternatives, a room that is of a superior category which can separate the beds. , this one has a private terrace and a very nice view or 2 separate rooms, clearly assuming the difference in cost. You chose the first alternative in a good way, accepting and even pointing out what a beautiful view, the next day they had breakfast and left calmly, which is why we were surprised by the comment. You wanted to reserve a room which we do not have and also through Expedia, which on this platform indicates all the information of the reservation made. This is a small boutique hotel, in which when people visit us they know what type of beds they have thanks to the reservation platforms. Greetings from the hotel management.
Amazingly situated building in a great area, right by cool restaurants, bars, and things you'll want to visit.
Fair warning: the local youths hang out on the steps below the hotel well into the night. So while they're mostly harmless and keep to themselves, you will hear them.
Place was beautiful old historic property, Carlos was extremely helpful and informative , property is a little hard to get to but worth it if that’s not an issue, right in the middle of bohemian culture and great views from hotel, enjoyed it
The hotel was in a vintage building filled with charming details. The location was excellent with many restaurants and shops within a five minute walk. The area has lots of street art and is close to an elevator stop. The staff was friendly and helpful. Recommended to anyone.
