Very good hotel choice in old town near palace and other landmarks. About half a mile walk from train station, so if you come to town by train or would like to take a day tour to other towns, this is also a good spot to consider.

I completely loved this hotel. It is so charming. The breakfast was the best out of all the hotels we stayed at throughout Scandinavia. The quality of the food was very good. Staff were very friendly, rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hotel is walking distance to city center attractions. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel!

Only thing we did not like was that we had a room on the 7th floor, and it must have been near the attic/roof so there were two sloped ceilings quite low in the room and my wife and I hit our heads on it a half dozen times. Loved the restaurant, and Reception folks were outstanding and helped us a lot.

The hotel is simply beautiful. We were sad we stayed such a short time we did not have time to use its facilities. Next time we will stay longer. Staff were exceptionally friendly and professional.

The hotel’s location is central, 10-12 min walk to Gamla Stan and the Central Station. It’s a couple of minutes away to tram stop # 7 and shopping. The breakfast buffet was awesome. The French bistro in the hotel served delicious food. I would stay at this hotel again.

The location of this property is great. Close to the train station, easy to walk to all the main attractions, etc. It also is very pretty with lovely decor, ambience, etc. However, the room they put us in had the worst bed bug infestation I could imagine. This was also my very first experience with bed bugs and it was completely unexpected. We didn't even noticed there were bed bugs until we woke up the next morning and saw them everywhere.. lots of tiny ones in the sheets and VERY large ones on the headboard and even the walls. We were both mortified and incredibly surprised based on the great reviews and rankings of this hotel.. Ultimately, I expected a refund. This is an expensive hotel, especially in the summer time and it was a huge inconvenience to have to deal with. But after several calls and emails it ended with the hotel saying that bed bugs are normal and that the percentage of them in Stockholm is high, etc. They wouldn't refund us but did offer to give us a free two night stay next time we are in Stockholm. But the chances of us being in Stockholm again are very slim and we obviously would never stay here after this experience. I did give this hotel 2 stars instead of 1, because maybe this is largely uncontrollable and happens a lot and therefore we can't blame them? I don't know, but I wouldn't risk booking this hotel. Bed Bugs really put a damper on a vacation...

Dear Anderson, Due to our geographical proximity in the far north of Europe, and with over a century of high standard in building quality (along with a penchant for cleanliness), we have long been spared vermin such as bed bugs. But due to an increase in global travel in the past decades, even the “untouched” Scandinavia has been affected by such severe unpleasantries. In fact, between 2008 and 2014, there was an approx. 800% increase in bed bug reports from the hospitality business in Stockholm. And as a hotel, we have of course not been entirely unaffected. But it is nevertheless exceptionally unfortunate that you did suffer from bed bugs during your stay, and we of course take this matter very seriously. Together with Anticimex Pest Control, we have strict protocol on what actions be taken when this occurs, and this was of course done in your case. The protocol, amongst others, calls for disposal of all fabrics in the room and Anticimex to then sanitise the room. The room is then held in quarantine for at least 7 days, before the fumigators check for “survivors”. If there are any, the process is repeated; are there none, the room is made up again and allocated to guests. In the five years we have been open, there has been only one case of infestation, i.e. the matter that your review involves. But although I would with confidence like to say that it, statistically, will not occur again, I do not like to deal in certainties and will therefore say that the risk is minimal. With this is mind I do hope that it will bring confidence in that you can stay with us again, without this troubling your overall senses during your visit. Excellent boutique hotel. Room was spacious, updated, and clean. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Excellent location. Some of the cab drivers had difficulty finding the hotel as the entrance is on a small side street through the outdoor seating area for the brasserie so familiarize yourself with the map before you go. Wonderful atrium restaurant/bar area converted from an alley between two buildings. Great buffet breakfast. This hotel will be my choice for our next trip to Stockholm.

Highly recommend this hotel. We stayed for a day while on our way to Norway. The hotel is in a central location and very near to the royal palace and old town. The staff was very courteous and they were very kind to give us a very early check in at 9 am :). The breakfast buffet in the hotel was excellent.

We really appreciated getting early access to our room. It is a lovely hotel and the staff is very nice and quickly responsive to issues that might arise. The location is fantastic: within walking distance to the old town and across the park from two Hop On Hop Off stops. For a comparatively inexpensive rate in an incredibly expensive city, you also get a wonderful breakfast included. The quality of the TV in the room is excellent, and the bed and pillows are extremely comfortable. Lots of wall sockets for your electricals. So there are lots of positives. But the room is TINY – I mean, no room to even open your suitcase (there are larger rooms for a higher price). There is virtually no storage available for your clothes, making a stay beyond one night impractical. The air conditioning did not cool our room and the temperature only went up, not down. The bathroom amenities are hit or miss: nice soft robes included, but no shampoo (!). This was a first for us. Liquid soap is offered for the shower but, without a loofah, is not ideal and a bar of soap would have been nice. Small problem with asking for another towel and being brought a pillow instead, but this is minor. But really the problem is what many have cited for this property: the room size. It is unreasonable to expect two people (and even one person) to be able to bring suitcases into the room, there is nowhere to put your clothes, and there is practically no space between the end of the bed and the wall.

This is a very attractive hotel in the heart of Stockholm, composed of two old buildings with a glazed courtyard. The double room we had was described as 'small' on the booking, but was rather smaller than expected. The bed was comfortable and the linen of high quality. The third floor drawing room was a lovely facility to have open to guests. The staff were helpful and thoughtful.
