Clean, reasonable hotel, fairly centrally located near the Chiemsee in Siegsdorf. Staff were very friendly and competent. Breakfast was very reasonable by German standards and we ate two meals in the hotel restaurant and they were both quite good. I'd stay there again.

Good hotel
Good hotel to stay in. Room was spacious with a big balcony. It was very comfortable and clean for my family, one toddler and a small dog. Breakfast was ok. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was pretty good.

This is such a cute and cozy place to stay. Our family of five enjoyed a beautiful evening in the Biergarten. The staff was very friendly and kind. There is a museum across the street that we would have loved to have visited if we had the time. We would definitely stay again!

Lovely picturesque 'Alpine Hotel'.
Ideally situated in a very pleasant area near the motorway. Very clean, very good service and the restaurant was great too. Thoroughly recommended.

We had a lovely night in Alte Post, the staff were friendly and can speak very good English if you do not speak German. Free parking and inclusive breakfast, I would recommend this hotel

A nice place. Simplistic breakfast. Very clean room. Very smooth check-in and check-out. The free WiFi had issues during the second night of my stay. The next time I am in Siegsdorf I plan on staying at the Alte Post again.

The Wi-Fi is horrible in the room, we had to go out to corridor to use it. otherwise, the hotel staff were great and helpful

Stayed here two nights and it was just OK, but not great and would not stay again. Close to highway (5 mins) and looks lovely from outside but apart from the initial greeting from the gentleman (owner?) the service was not very friendly. No welcome feeling. The rooms were OK but the bed was much too soft. The bathroom and shower was good though. Also hardly any furniture in the rooms. Breakfast was minimal with not much choice. Ok for one night passing through but not for longer stay.

Lovely surprise!
We were looking for a hotel in the general area, and Hotel Alte Post came up. It looked interesting, so we took a chance. So glad we did. It has definite Old World charm but with modern amenities. Very comfortable, great outdoor garden with good food, nice breakfast and very polite, helpful staff. Would gladly return!

Lovely Bavarian surprise
We were delighted with our room and the friendly staff. Bavarian touches but still very comfortable and clean. Staff were eager to help even with minimal German. Restaurant and breakfast were excellent.

Enjoyed my stay.
I enjoyed staying at this hotel. It came up under Berchesgaden but it is closer to Herren Chiemsee. It is older, the room was large but plain, and there was some traffic noise in the evening. It was very quiet while sleeping. The manager was very friendly. We had dinner there out in the patio. Friendly service and a good meal. Breakfast was good, typically European with meat, cheese, yogurt, and cold cereal. I loved the older section of the hotel. You had a sense of history.

The one bedroom apartment was very big and comfortable. The kitchenette is always a plus! The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. The restaurant in the hotel served great food at a reasonable price and breakfast was tasty, too! The only issue was that there wasn't a fan or air conditioner in the room and it got stuffy really quickly in summer, and being on the ground floor, we didn't want to sleep with the window open, so the room was a little too hot to be comfortable. The decorations weren't the most up to date, but it served our purpose perfectly.

Lovely hotel
We stayed two nights at this hotel. The staff was very friendly. They were especially accommodating of our two children. The food in the restaurant is absolutely delicious. We ate here both nights, and it was amazing. The breakfast was delicious as well. The hotel is really close to the autobahn. It was a short drive to the Bernau-Felden pier to get to the Herrenchiemsee. We had a great time and would highly recommend this hotel for families.

Wonderful hotel, wonderful town!
We stayed at the Alte Post for 3 nights with our family of five and it was great -- a fantastic Bavarian experience with comfortable and modern hotel rooms. Ample parking, excellent food, great service. The town of Siegsdorf is picturesque, and our kids loved the Eis Cafe located within a very quick walk, the natural history museum and the walking trail along the river with play areas and a lovely set of treehouses, and the Italian restaurant within walking distance. We loved the musical entertainment in the Biergarten on Saturday night, and overall had a very enjoyable stay.

Hotel Alte Poste September 2010
We booked this hotel as a stopover between stays in Munich and the Bavarian Alps. The hotel is located in a small sleepy town just a few km off the autobahn making this a very convienent location for travelers. The room and bath were spacious, well maintained, and updated. There was a little bit of noise from other people walking in the hallways due to the planked floors, but it did not disturb us once we went to bed. The restaurant and biergarten were also a nice break for relaxing after two busy days in Munich. The dinner in the hotel restaurant was delicious and priced moderately. The restaurant service was the best we received in Germany.

We love, love , love this hotel. It is in a quaint little town close to pubs and adorable stores. The hotel itself sends you back in time even though it has been modernized. The restaurant in the hotel has amazing food. We ate dinner there and then came back for Apple Strudel. Our room was comfortable and the bathroom was very modern. We wish we could have stayed longer. We were there for one night in between seeing the casltes and Salzburg. Our GPS found the hotel without any problems.

A Gem
The old hotel has been completely remodeled and is wonderful. Had a very large room, excellent service, very quiet and comfortable. Available parking, good restaurant, WiFi, and just a short distance off the Autobahn with only the small town charm. Good stop on the way to Salzburg, Munich, or Chiemsee.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Alte Post. Traveling in Europe with three children is often a challenge. Often times, "family rooms" are not as they are described and we either do not have the space or the layout is not what we would like. However, this hotel was perfect! More like an apartment than a hotel room. Very comfrontable, clean, quiet and nice. We arrived in the rain and were so excited to see a restaurant in the hotel. The food was very good and the service was great. It was perfect for our family and I very much enjoyed it. The staff was great. We will recommend this to everyone and stay there again!

Perfection!!
This place is fabulous!! It's been there since 1441 and owned/managed by the same family since the 1600's so you know they are doing something right. The room was very nice (I think we must have been upgraded, because we got lots more then we expected for the price). The food was great and the furnishing and motif of the hotel were outstanding. Ever though it was about 20 km from the Cheimsee (our destination), there is no doubt we will DEFINATELY stay here again the next time we are in Germany. It was THE BEST!!

Tolle Unterkunft, Parkplatz vor der Tür, sehr netter Service, essen preislich gehoben. Küche im Zimmer war leider nur spärlich ausgestattet. Wir hätten bestimmt alles bekommen was wir benötigen wenn wir danach gefragt hätten. Da wir aber die meiste Zeit unterwegs waren, war alles sehr gut so.
