Rustic but comfortable cottage with lake access and vews.
This was an early season stay for vermont. I say this because i know living in nh. The indoors were impecable whereas outside was needing a dew repairs/wash. Being early season i expected that. Owners were very accommodating. Even bringing our ordered food to our door piping hot. This wasny first getaway with my extended family and we enjoyed the area and accommodations.

Cozy Spot!
We came here for a fishing trip. Mike and Ardie were both very attentive and came a few times to check on us and make sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely come stay again. Beautiful property too!

October stay at the Blue Heron cottage
The cottage has wonderful views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks across the lake. The wood pellet stove was perfect for keeping the cabin warn. We made a fire outside overlooking the lake one night and cooked dinner on the coals. Had fun walking at Otter Creek near Middlebury and picking apples at Champlain Orchards.

The on site host Ardie and Chef Mike were phenomenal, personable & helpful.
Quiet, scenic (right on Lake Champlain!) and well cared for as owners Ardie and Mike are right on site. Can’t say enough about these two hosts. Both made us feel right at home with cottage and grounds. Lots of great suggestions. Chef Mike is a tremendous cook and Ardie was just pleasant to be around. Cottage was clean and oriented directly to a beautiful view of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks in the background. We enjoyed the quiet and remoteness for the entire October week. The colors exceeded our expectations as did everything else at this very special VBRO!

Great getaway
We loved staying at this cottage - it was just my fiancé, myself and our dog. Was plenty of room and could easily had had another couple with us. Great view of the water, super secluded and exactly what we were looking for. Some things that were shared with us after we booked that would have been helpful to know prior: - you need to bring your own sheets & towels - the owners prefer a check for the security deposit - they supply some paper product but you may need to supplement with your own - the washer / dryer and hot tub are all shared between the 3 houses on the property (located at a different house then the one we stayed on). We didn't feel comfortable using the hot tub while tenants were in the other cabin (personal preference) but we got lucky and we were there between bookings one day when we were able to take advantage of the hot tub all in all a great time! the hosts are extremely friendly (even gave us some veggies from their garden!) and responsive and we'd love to go back maybe with a much bigger group where we could have multiple cabins at once. Some of the furniture is a bit worn (the couch), but again, it's a cabin in the woods so was as expected - bed was comfy. wifi was also great- I took many video meetings while there and didn't have any issues.

Quiet retreat
The cottage is located on a beautiful secluded dead end. The lake views were calming as I drank my morning coffee on the deck. There were a couple of board games and decks of cards, perfect for friends and family. The owners and their family are very friendly and were always available when we needed to ask a question. Highly recommend to families looking to reconnect to nature and peace.
