DO NOT STAY HERE - ABSOLUTELY AWFUL
Weeks before arriving in Madeira I communicated with the owner, informing him of our arrival time. Days before our arrival I informed him of the time we'd reach the hotel, despite this, when we arrived there was nobody on site to assist us. After wondering around, calling the owner several times, eventually he answered saying he would be there shortly.
Instead of the owner who spoke fluent English arriving, a woman who spoke zero English turned up, we had to call our Portuguese friend to translate for us as there were a lot of property descriptions missing/wrong: No kitchen available (we were told we weren't allowed to use the site kitchen), no outdoor play area, no living room, no balcony, refusal to fill the hot tub, no fire place, no staff on site to run the BBQ, bar or attend to any issues and the swimming pool was green.
It was definitely not a presidential deluxe suite - the photo's are very deceptive.
The room was small,dark,smelt of damp, the TV remote did not work and there was no heating available.
Throughout our week long stay we contacted the owner in regards to queries, every time he became ruder. A couple of days in we noticed the patio door to our room didn’t have a lock. Upon realising this, we tried to contact the owner, which is when we discovered he had blocked my number and my ability to contact him through Vrbo! My £150 ear pods and £100 worth of clothing were stolen from our room!
Vrbo customer service did nothing to rectify this experience.
