A/C in room creates a great hideaway and recharge during hot summer days. Rooms were clean and staff was friendly. Location is close to bus stops for easy transport to train station and Gouffre di Pidarac.
Mathieu was a charming host and a valuable source of advice for dining and sightseeing options…the hotel is in a perfect location next to the elevators to/from the village and also next to the Chateau which is a good place to start because it’s all downhill from there.
We stayed here en route to Spain and we absolutely loved it. Everything about it was nice. It’s such a peaceful place - very relaxing. The only bad thing we can say is that we didn’t stay long enough! We’re already trying to figure out when we can go back.
This is a great hotel. Our room was very modern and very clean, the staff were exceptionally friendly and the location was excellent - very close to the lift/path down to Rocamadour - we will definitely stay here again!
Great location at the top of the hill above Rocamadour right next to the castle and path down the hill, allowing you to wander down into the village. This was also a well lit path for the return. Nice brakfast and a great open area for children to run around.
The hotel was conveniently located to the Rocamadour Chateau. The room was rather plain and stark- small twin beds and a single towel per person. The air conditioning worked very well and appreciated the free parking/wifi. The manager was helpful.
We had a full week here since it was easy to reach (by car) to various sites on the Dordogne valley. The hotel is very well run, clean an quiet. The room was serviced every day which was more than we expected. Breakfast every morning was buffet style nicely done in the wonderful breakfast room with views towards country side landscape.
The hotel owners and the personal are very welcoming, friendly and helpful with suggestions for local attractions.
The restaurant across the road it was the best we had but other good alternatives are also available at walking distance.
Overall we felt like at 4*
We are already talking about comming back so deffinetly recommended.
We were welcomed with warm friendliness, shown our room and advised as where to see the best sights. The couple who welcomed us could not have been more helpful and kind. We will tell friends and family to visit you, and we will seriously consider a return stay. Thank you very much. Steve and Danièle Lawrenson
front desk very helpful, warm, and welcoming. They speak great english too. Ask them about restaurant and cafe specials as several cafes in town give free aperitif/digestif if you mention hotel referral. The location is right next to the Chateau (2 min walk) which is at the top of the cliffs. You walk down the cliffs via walkway or stairs to old town below. Closest market is about 15 min flat walk to the other town nearby called hospitalet. The geography is good to consider because some will have difficulty walking up and down the cliffs/stairs or walking to/from hospitalet if this is needed. That said, there is a nice restaurant across the street and cafe in front of the hotel. Breakfast at the hotel is nice because you can self serve boiled eggs in addition to the usual pastries and cheese of typical petit dejuner in France. Rooms are very confortable and clean. No AC but probably not needed. They do have good heaters.
I made an overnight stop here whilst touring the area. I was well pleased with its convenience for exploring Rocamadour.
It did not have it's own restaurant for evening meal, but there was one just across the car park.
This was a little difficult to find as it is tucked back opposite the Restaurant du Chateau above Rocamadour. Very pleasant receptionist. Free parking. Good sized twin room but very small wardrobe. Good bathroom/wetroom. Beds a little soft. Nice bedding. Very quiet. Ground floor rooms available. No a/c and only duvets supplied, which was uncomfortable in the heat.Lovely view from the room. No ventilation in the bathroom.
Near to funicular for getting down to Rocamadour.
