Exceeded Expectations
Tunnel Hill was the perfect spot for our family holiday. From the start, communication with the Tunnel Hill team was exceptional. Being greeted upon arrival and shown around was very much appreciated. The cottage was very well equipped and very comfortable. The golf cart and tunnel down to the beach were highlights. We loved the view, the outside amenities and the peaceful setting. Tunnel Hill exceeded our expectations and we hope to return.

We loved our stay here. The beds were really comfortable and the home was clean and spacious. Mike was extremely helpful and the resident deer were a delight to watch! Highly recommend this property.

Restful and Perfect!
Great experience! The view is amazing. great to have a fast way to go up and down to the beach, which is incredible. Saw lots of whales (both humpback and orcas). Lots of space for four of us to do our own thing but ideally located to grab groceries without having to take a lot of time out of your day. Fire pit was awesome, kayaks and a paddle board too. All in all one of our favourite vacations. Mike and his whole team were great!

Simply Wonderful
This was our second stay at Tunnel Hill Cottage and it was just as wonderful as the first. Everything from pillows and beds to amenities on the property are better than one could hope for. Property team is very fast to answer any questions and easy to contact. Would highly recommend this property to all. Thanks for everything Tunnel Hill, we will be back again and again!

A few things missing
This is a very nice property. I do believe it is overpriced however. My family and I use VRBO properties for our vacations often and never have we come across a kitchen like this. If the cook is in the kitchen, they’re on their own. There is a reason there is only one picture of it. There is a beautiful view at the back of the house, however the back deck could use more chairs and a sturdy table as well as some lighting for the evening hours, otherwise your in pitch blackness. The living room and bedrooms were comfortable and clean and we all slept like teenagers!

The property, Owner and Management are second to none. Spent 10 days in awe of this stunning property. They have thought of everything to make it feel like home and from the minute we arrived we felt comfortable, relaxed and content. More than impressed
Our 2 families of 4 stayed at Tunnel Hill for a week this summer and it was fabulous! We chose this property for the excellent reviews and we were not disappointed. The pictures do not do it justice. The house was well stocked, the linens were soft, and it was clean clean clean (very important to us, as we stayed during Covid). Janet was there to show us the house upon arrival, and when we noticed there were only 3 wine glasses later, she was quick to respond and drop off 2 new sets within a couple hours. Mike came to show us the property...the awesome tunnel down to the beach, the golf cart, campfire, the kayaks etc. Such a beautiful and special property. The kids could ride their bikes up the long driveway, they played basketball and bocce. But of course most of our days were spent at the beach. We made so many special memories at Tunnel Hill. Hope to return some day!

Tunnel Hill is an excellent setting in Qualicum Beach. It is a 100 year old cottage- comfortable and spacious for a family of up to six.

Stunning and comfortable
We were personally greeted and shown around the property upon our arrival. I very much appreciated having a real person to answer any questions. The location is fabulous, beautiful view, and very close to town. The house seemed well stocked with plates, cups, mugs, and even toilet paper. The beds were very comfortable including enough blankets and an assortment of pillow choices. The house was furnished well and the living had plenty of comfortable seating for all our guests. This house felt very much like home. We would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Great place. Very relaxing.

What an amazing place and location. I could write a huge review, but it was a wonderful trip, so I'll keep it short. The house was clean and well stocked. The property is a mixture of lawns, forests and private beach, so a dream location for kids. The use of the golf cart to drive down to the beach through the tunnel just added to the fun. A place we will return to.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tunnel Cottage - those young and old! The home and property is immaculate. The beach is beautiful and the attention to detail from the caretakers, property manager and owner is truly a rare find these days. Although the weather wasn’t the best we still enjoyed nature walks up the long tree lined driveway, daily beach walks when the tide was out and everything about the grounds and cottage. The cottage is well stocked with linens, kitchen items, games, etc. and the decor and view instantly put me at ease. The children (aged 2 -12) loved the sandbox and the golf cart rides through the tunnel and down the windy cliff to the beach. Our stay was simply perfect!

Perfect home
The Tunnel Hill Cottage was absolutely perfect for our family vacation. Maureen was so friendly and easy to work with, and Mike and Janet greeted us upon arrival and helped us get acquainted with the property. The home was beyond compare! It is perfectly decorated, but feels so comfortable. It had everything we could need. The patios make enjoying the outdoors so inviting. The views of the water from both inside and outside the house can not be beat. And a short walk takes you to the beach. I will come back again!

Amazing!!
Tunnel Hill is a unique and amazing place to vacation!! You not only have the wonderful view, but you also have the majestic trees that the eagles love. Wildlife was totally awesome and Tunnel Hill is a wonderful place to relax and the tranquility is superb! I was sad to leave, but I'm already looking forward to coming back for a longer stay next time! The people that manage and own the place are very gracious!!

Beautiful, peaceful retreat!
We very much enjoyed our stay at Tunnel Hill Cottage. We came to have a relaxing time away and weren't disappointed! The home is lovely and clean, the grounds were pristine and every amenity we needed was available. All the wildlife, deer, eagles, and seals and private access to the beach were a real treat. Definitely recommend this place!

Our family of 8 really enjoyed our stay at Tunnel Hill. The large dining room and living room made our family visit so comfortable and easy. It was really helpful having so many plates/cutlery/platters etc as part of the kitchen kit - we were never short of anything despite being a big group cooking all our meals. Magical
We had a one week stay at Tunnel Hill and it was fantastic! What a wonderful character home Tunnel Hill is. We had a wonderful time reconnecting with family and friends who live nearby. The property is truly magical. Deer in the morning, eagles soaring, sea lions, otters and even a whale sighting right from the window view! The view really is stunning. It was hard to leave to go exploring but we did and there was so much the area had to offer. Beautiful walks in the old growth forests, Milner's Garden is a must see, great places to eat and shop super close by in quaint Qualicum Beach village. We were also able to make a day trip to Tofino. An all day trip but much worth it. We had perfect weather on top of all of this! The house was the perfect size, clean and comfortable. The kitchen and Master Ensuite is a bit small for my liking but I adjusted to it and embraced the character and family vibe this house gives. Afterall the house was built in the 1920's and people did not live in the huge modern type houses we build now. It was lovely to experience living in a character house with beautiful woods and sweet touches everywhere. The Master Bedroom was spacious with a King size bed and great linens and the view when you first open your eyes in the morning is just breath taking. Waking in the middle of the night was also awesome, stars and the reflection off the water was something to see. I would sometimes just stand at the window and take it all in. The property has so much to offer with many sitting areas. You feel as though you are secluded from the rest of the world (privacy and peace and quiet was high on our wish list)...this property did not disappoint. The tunnel is something special indeed. Our grown children thought it was amazing and bonded even more during their visits to us, one of our sons just had surgery so taking the golf cart through the tunnel to enjoy a camp fire, beach side would have otherwise been impossible. We want to thank Maureen, Janice and Mike for their hard work in making our stay truly wonderful. A holiday memory to last us all a lifetime. After 3 years of very challenging times for our family this was just what was needed. We called Tunnel Hill our healing house! A huge thank you from all of us. Tunnel Hill was truly magical! We are already planning our return! Do not hesitate to book this amazing property.

The cottage is a unique and special place. Beautiful scenery; privacy; beach access; spectacular.
A 1920’s cottage home is furnished and attended to as though it was your own special hideaway. We loved everything about Tunnel Hill Cottage. We took advantage of every amenity: walking the beach; enjoying the patio/deck area in the evenings; watching the sea life and vessels out the front window early in the morning and relaxing in the comfortable beds. This was a true getaway in a lovely community. We’d come again.

Fantastic family vacation/surprise 60th birthday!
No words to describe the peaceful beauty of this vacation property! Our 1st family vacation to celebrate dad's 60th birthday! He was so thrilled with the home/location, as were we all! The grandkids loved exploring on the beach and property. Everyday we watched the family of deer wander the property, beachcombed, watched seals, eagles and the spectacular sunsets! Truly a beautiful place to spend some great quality family time! It provided everything we needed for a spectacular vacation! We will be sure to return!
