Rim Country Museum and Myra's Art Gallery are cultural highlights, and some of the area's attractions include Rancho Tonto Catch-A-Trout and Tonto Creek Fish Hatchery. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching. With a true rustic cabin feel, Trout Creek Cabin features a king bed, queen bed, and a sofa bed, there's plenty of space for everyone. This cabin is well appointed inside with most everything we could need. The check in process was easy enough once I figured out the keypad entry. The patio area of this cabin is especially pleasant - but the other outside areas are getting a bit dated and the furniture is a bit weather worn etc. Also - we had to move the one propane tank from the grill to the firepit as the other two containers were empty. I mentioned during check in I had a few issues initially and when I tried to call both numbers provided by the host - both went to voicemail. Luckily we figured it out. Finally - while the proximity to the river for fishing or even swimming was awesome - it is a bit "crowded" in the neighborhood and we had many many dogs in the neighborhood on a pretty constant barking spree every time someone walked by - especially if walking their dog. Again - overall we liked the place - and the price was very reasonable - but we like to be honest in our reviews.

I have stayed at mountain cabins in Calif, Colo, and all over Arizona and this is the BEST cabin I have stayed at. It is warm, welcoming and has virtually everything one needs for a few days in the high country. It is more than just a cabin.....it is a home. I cannot say enough about how much I and my adult daughter enjoyed the stay. Our two dogs seemed at home and comfortable as well. I give this cabin and the manager my highest recommendation. I WILL go back.

The cabin is top notch and put together with a real touch of warmth. The location is quite. The cabin had everything we needed. Close enough to town to be convenient, yet far enough away to enjoy the woods, view, and wildlife. We will definitely stay there ne t time we are in the area.

Great location! Cabin was amazing. Very clean and well stocked. Comfy! We will definitely stay again. Communication was excellent with the hosts and they provided lots of info on local hikes, fishing and things to do.

Exactly what my hubby and I were looking for. The property was even better than the pictures!!! Will definitely stay here again. Even thinking about renting for my parents as a surprise getaway for them. The only downfall to mention was the bed(s) are not that firm at all and a bit sunk in where people have slept so I had a sore back. I am very used to and spoiled by my sleep number bed at home.

This was a nice cabin to stay in for a family of four and a dog. The kitchen was well equipped so we were able to cook easily throughout the week. The fishing was within walking distance. The owners gave detailed information about the place so we were able to make use of all the amenities available. We would definitely stay here again.

Cozy, private cabin in the cool pines
Super cute cabin in the mountains of Payson. Neighborhood is nice for walking, beautiful river runs through the neighborhood. While we didn't play in it, I did see many families playing in the water. Elk wandered by the house one morning. Nice private front deck so you can enjoy morning coffee in your jammies. Very family-friendly. Community center has ping pong table and lending library. Only complaint is neighbor dogs all around us barking for hours on end, starting as early as 6:30am. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay.

Memorial weekend stay
Myself, my husband, and our three kids (age4-12) came to stay for 2 nights. We enjoyed our stay and the proximity to several of the hikes we enjoy in Payson, as well as being able to walk to go fishing and the community playground. We had a wonderful time at the cabin. It was perfect and just what we needed to escape the valley. Chase was a great host and the welcome binder they created for guests, was very helpful.
