We had a fantastic stay at the Anchor Inn! Our room was very cozy, the location is outstanding, and the breakfast was awesome. The innkeeper, Nate, was extremely accommodating, kind, and willing to go above and beyond. We even rented a jeep from him right on site which was super convenient and a fun way to explore the island! I can’t wait to return!

We were on a girls' weekend and we loved staying at the Anchor Inn. Nate and his staff were great and gave us great ideas of where to eat and what to do. The Inn was charming and very comfortable. We really enjoyed being able to sit in the living room after a long day of fun. Also, the quality of the bedding and towels was top of the line.

Anchor Inn fabulous
The room was fabulous and the housekeeping impeccable. The breakfasts were amazing - bagels, yogurt, melon, strawberries, cereal. The showers were tiny - don't drop the soap, as you will have to get out of the shower to pick it up! But this is probably standard for these very old and historic homes. The proprieter was perfect - very helpful but never intrusive.

For the price this hotel was not in good condition. the windows in the room did not open and probably haven't been open in decades which makes one wonder about air quality. the bathroom was ridiculously small..had to sit sideways on toilet. the noise outside was constant. the room was very hastily cleaned. the breakfast was subpar. for about 200 night this would be ok not over 700. never again. sorry the manager was nice but the owners obviously enjoy ripping off summer tourists.

The room Platina was the worst. They store all the dirty linen and house keeping items just in front of the room. That room needs a lot of renovation. The bathroom was not dirty but it was tiny and needs fixing. Lounge area was okay. Breakfast was barely okay. The other rooms that I could peek at in the upstairs seemed better.

An absolutely adorable inn. The staff was so kind and helpful. The room was very clean and the location couldn’t have been better ! 5 minute walk to all the main restaurants and shops! Will definitely be going back!

Great location for exploring the island, quaint room, but needed repairs ie paint chipping, window covering broken, bannister in hall loose. Sounds in hallway and upstairs readily transmitted to our room and was disturbing at times and during sleeping hours. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Great continental breakfast with fresh fruits.

Nate was great to talk to and for recommendations on places to go. Breakfast offerings were varied each morning. The location was great- a few minutes to walk to town and a quiet neighborhood.

Nate, the innkeeper was excellent, friendly. He provided places to eat, places of interest. Place is old but that is the charm of this place. Toiletries were nice. Place is close enough to the ferry terminal, Main Street shopping and restaurants.

A nice and neat place to stay (in a historic house!). The owner is very friendly and gives lots of tips for dining, exploring, etc. The room is clean and comfortable, but the sound-proof between rooms is poor.

BECAUSE I HAD COVID AND UNDER BOTH MASSACHUSETTS AND CDC REGULATIONS I WAS REQUIRED NOT TO TRAVEL TO NANTUCKET, I HAD TO CANCEL. AND ALTHOUGH EXPEDIA TRIED TO CONTACT ANCHOR INN TO GET MY REFUND, ANCHOR INN WOULD NOT GIVE NE A REFUND OF ALMOST $2,000 !!!

Nate the manager was very upbeat, helpful and engaging. When he was there, breakfast was a treat. When he was gone breakfast was basic and so, so. Room had good size and charm. Stting and eating spaces, indoors and out were very welcoming and enjoyable. Windows and window AC unit along with tiny bath room with no exhaust fan and a non working light cast a bit of a shadow. Also general condition of property, mainly failing services infrastructure and absence of attention to detail in the restoration work (especially the double hung original windows) altogether seem to have made the place more difficult to manage.

Charming and comfortable home away from home. Nate is kind and welcoming and the breakfast he prepared was wonderful (try quiche if he has it!). The Inn has the old bones of an over 200 year old Nantucket house, but with modern appointments and an innkeeper with a sense for hospitality that’s timeless. Stay here.

Great bed. Great breakfast. Walkable location. Towels like new; quietest hair dryer ever. Tiniest bathroom ever. Inn was full and guests were considerate of one another. Price seemed high compared to my friends’ bigger and less expensive room in another place, but they booked earlier. I felt lucky to get anything under $400 as the island filled up on the last beautiful weekend of fall.

The location was excellent and convenient walking distance to many sights. The room was adequately clean but not in good condition with peeling paint and signs of wear. Located on the ground floor, it was extremely noisy from both pedestrians and auto traffic. The window-mounted air conditioning unit was also extremely noisy. Breakfast was pleasant and adequate, but the common room was not inviting and comfortable. We chatted with the owner who was pleasant and accommodated an electrical problem in our room. The room was adequate but extremely expensive for what we got.

Our room did not look this pristine. The “Tucker” room which we got should absolutely NOT be on the market. And definitely not at the price we paid. It’s is in poor repair, moving floorboards and the paint is scruffed and chipped. The outside stairway & entry to the room are just plain dirty, slippery & unmaintained. The bathroom is very small ( 2 ft between edge of sink and wall). From the bathroom door - 1 step to the toilet, 2 steps to the sink, 3 to the tub. That’s it. I am small/medium and turning around was tight. No counter, so I couldn’t put in my contacts or apply makeup in bathroom. The bathroom door could neither close properly nor stay open without using the chair as a prop. The shower rail fell on my husband but they did come and fixed that. We had a strong smell of oil in the room. When we opened the window to get the smell out, we had to deal with food odors wafting in. The AC rattled so loudly that we opted for open windows at night. We told the manager about the smell on Wednesday but they could find the source. The lighting was too dim with 2 bedside lamps and a floor lamp. Not enough for reading at night. The beakfast/breakfast area was a huge disappointment; certainly not the appetizing, bountiful depiction on the website. Quite the opposite. The outside seating is in poor condition, dirty and mildewed. Not at all inviting. But, the sheets were wonderful and housekeeping cleaned nicely each day.

I only wish I knew of the breakfast disappointment earlier, as we would have happily done our best to accommodate you. If anything we try to make our breakfast better then advertised and our online reputation certainly reflects that.

I cannot speak more highly of the Anchor Inn! The innkeeper was extremely accommodating and provided a very high level of service and hospitality. The inn had so many helpful amenities including hot and continental breakfast available each morning, water and hot beverages available throughout the day, a lovely outdoor patio, beach chairs and towels to borrow for a day at the beach, and the ability to leave bags/change/use the facilities even before/after checkout. The proximity to town and Jetties Beach was excellent. We would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Nantucket.
