The rooms are vary spacious and the restrooms have been remodeled in the last few years. The atmosphere is vintage and comfortable, very warm, comfortable and feels lived in. The decor is very home-away-from-hone and all of the staff are super friendly and attentive. Recommend to travelers.

The hotel is only a block or so from the University, where I had to attend a couple days of meetings, so the neighborhood is very lively with young people. But it is also a short (15 to 20 minutes) walk to the old town center of Munich. The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, but the room was beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast buffets were included and were outstanding. Parking is a big plus and not too expensive (12 euros per night), but be sure to request it in advance. Do not count on street parking!

Not worth it
The room smells very bad. The floor in our room makes a weird noise while we walk. If you have a car park on the hotel, you can't leave or come back after 9pm. They close the doors and dont give you a key to open. I don't recommend this hotel.

Convenient location and low price but that’s about it. You definitely get what you pay for. Clogged drain, Wi-Fi didn’t work, old fixtures, and all around just not well kept. Oh and the cleaners opened the door without knocking Frist. Fine for a night or two if you’re on a tight budget but I wouldnt recommend it.

Hidden gem
I stayed at this hotel for a 1 night business trip. The entrance/reception is a little hidden on the second floor. Check-in was crowded, but the hotel was incredibly accommodating when I requested a quiet room to do work since my stay was during the excitement of Oktoberfest. The hotel is conveniently surrounded by restaurants, shops and grocery stores. The room was nice and clean, but more importantly quiet for me. Breakfast was good as well (assorted meats, cheeses, breads, vegetables, eggs, coffees, teas, jams, etc.) served in an airy window filled room overlooking the garden. Overall I had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great location poor upkeep
Beautiful location with lots of restaurants and close to the Ubahn(underground train). Stayed in room 35 on the front building. That building was dated and an eyesore inside. They were a fowl oder emmunating from the toilet that can make you cry. We brought it to the From desk attention but nothing was resolved.. The sink was actually below the television hanging on the wall as you will see and add pictures to follow. The breakfast option is pretty good that's was a plus. All in all if you do decide to stay here request the 2nd building at the back it looks more modern cleaner cleaner but I probably would not come back to this location because of my experience

Disappointing stay.
Absolutely not recommendable. We booked 2 premium double rooms in this hotel for the only reason of having air conditioning in the rooms but we found none of this in both rooms that we booked. Hotels.com helped us through this problem but the hotel denied partial refund. We were given a coupun by hotels.com, thanks for all your help. but if we knew we would have booked another hotel. Also we had a problem with hot water. We showered with cold water for 3 days out of 4. When we complained we were told that they have checked it and found no problems. But then they told us that maybe the hot water has been used up. Bathroom sink of room 113 was blocked for all our stay. I have complained also but problem remained. No privacy at all , terraces are linked with no privacy area. Moreover no security as the terraces can be accessed from the fire exit, even from public. Such a pity for this hotel since rooms are very big and did not expect these problems at all. We spent so much time of our holiday on the phone trying to solve the problems. Cleanliness was also not so good. Buffet breakfast is pretty good and with a variety of pastries. Rooms size and breakfast are the only thumbs up for this hotel.

Small, little older but comfy hotel in great part of Munich. Staff really helpful and accommodating. Helped us arrange early early morning airport transit. Little strange collection of art work, but gives it character.

The property is fine - what let’s it down is the front desk staff. Rude & indifferent. You do not expect to be left standing @ the front desk whilst the indifferent staff takes two long booking calls & refuses to make eye contact!! Some customer service training is required here.

We booked a room with three beds, which was about the size of a small apartment. The breakfast was outstanding, location is excellent, I have paid more than double for places half as good. This will become my go-to hotel for stays close to Marienplatz/Englischer Garten.

Bathroom was dirty, had to tell them twice to clean it. I was offeted another room instead of cleaning it. I did not want to move because may find the same problem and insisted to be clean. An employee came and wiped the toilet with the floor towel and left. An hour later another employeescame with some detergent and clean it. Other than that the room was fine for the price.

The hotel did not have anything except soap in the bathroom, so bring your own everything. The little patio was cute but the little table was filthy from previously spilled beverages. The fire alarms went off randomly and the elevator went out and we were on the 4th floor. If you want to park there, you have to reserve it in advance or you park in the garage about 1/4 mile away. The restaurants near the hotel were hopping and very good.

Hipsters' palace
A bit old-school but charming with character. The room was large with a hipstery design and was oriented toward an interior court and included a shared balcony. The value for money was outstanding.

I loved the location and the centrality to so many interesting sights and restaurants. It was a unique hotel experience for me in a nice, older building. The breakfast was decent but limited; I wish there had been some more variety in the way of hot food or a selection of pastries. The oddest part for me was trying to figure out checking out. The front desk is closed overnight and my flight was leaving quite early; I didn't feel like the person there the morning before my departure understood my question about check out without my needing to provide additional details as to why I was asking. However, that was one small blip in an otherwise wonderful experience.

The housekeeper took our dirty towels and hung them up as if they we were clean. If we hadn’t found them to be wet, we would never have know. The shower did not drain resulting in ankle deep water while showering. The breakfast was sparse. The one plus was the woman who worked the evenings she was helpful, courteous and gave several great recommendations about the city.

Never really felt welcome at any point in the hotel. Breakfast was well stocked and of a good standard. Room we stayed in had really awful all in one shower room, cramped and uncomfortable. Disappointed as I'd read some real good reviews. Keys just left on front desk and no-one available to answer calls on a late return.

Reasonably priced hotel in Munich, walking distance to the old town. Rooms are clean and do the job - nothing overly special, but comfortable and good as a place to sleep when spending a few days exploring the city. The included breakfast is a highlight - a good selection of meats, cheeses, cereals, bread, and tea + coffee. Would stay here again.

Great location, friendly staff, and a nice breakfast included (breads, fruits, coffees, boiled eggs, juices, cheeses, and meats). The rooms are good but not excellent, pretty clean but could be better. Our room had an updated bathroom but the drain in the shower didn't drain the water quickly enough and we ended up standing in water by the end of the shower. Overall, I would happily stay there again. The Das Hotel could be one of the best places around if they take care of some of the details.

excellent location in a very pleasant neighbourhood. reception was closed when we arroived at 13.00 wioth no notioce of when iot would open. very awkward with a car to park and several suitcases. room was cute but could use more horizontal surfaces to put thiongs. a mysterious plumber arrived at 18.30 with no warning from reception to fix a tap which didnt seem to need fixing. we let him in but had I been by myself I would not have. Overall a rather strange hotel.
