Kate’s Cottage was first class 5*

A superb cottage - the best self catering we have stayed in which allows dogs. Lynn is a very welcoming host. Great facilities and well equipped. Lovely country situation with superb views. A hidden gem.

Beautiful Cottage & Area

The owner was very friendly helpful and available if needed. Everything was beautifully prepared and lots of goodies as we arrived. The home is well organised for dog walking and yet beautiful and comfortable.

Comfortable Accessible Hideaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kate’s Corner Cottage, part of Broogh Fort Cottages. The accommodation was spacious, comfortable, and ideally located for exploring the area. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional customer service from Lynn. Despite our late arrival, she kindly waited to greet us, gave us a quick orientation, and even provided guidance when our satnav didn’t lead us directly to the door. The digital welcome brochure was outstanding—comprehensive, detailed, and incredibly helpful. It made everything so much easier to navigate. The cottage was one of the very few places on the Isle of Man that could accommodate our three dogs, and the outdoor space was perfect for them to enjoy. We also really appreciated the thoughtful welcome pack, especially given our late arrival—it was a lovely touch. We’ve rated value for money as a 3, though this is no reflection on Lynn or the quality of the property. Accommodation during TT race week, particularly pet-friendly options, is extremely expensive. While we were celebrating a special birthday and anniversary, it’s worth noting that for the same cost, we could have travelled abroad. This, along with a challenging experience with the Steam Packet, added a bit of stress to what should have been a relaxing trip—something for the Isle of Man tourism industry to consider. That said, the cottage itself and Lynn’s hospitality were truly excellent, and we would absolutely recommend Kate’s Corner Cottage to others.
