"The WiFi was very spotty, the tiles around the pool were in rough shape, unstable in some areas. We had to change rooms because the AC in the first room was not getting cool enough. Getting out of the tub is dangerous, requires one to be very careful because the tub is slippery and the floor is lower ..."

I was here for business, but if you come for leisure, I would suggest visiting the old city around the harbour and then going out into the island to visit the newly created National Parks (Karthala - the volcano - and Coelacanthe - the marine park).

Wouldn't be my number 1 choice for a vacation; but made the best of a work destination that I had to visit. You can negotiate an island tour with one or the other of the guys offering car rental & other services, usually parked on the hotel grounds
