Absolutely fantastic staff! Clean rooms, good breakfast. Among issues to consider: the room was really too small for a couple with 2 big travel bags. Taxi drivers can not park near the hotel, so be prepared to walk a couple of blocks. And there is no elevator from the ground floor to the 1 flooor - that was tough to bring 2 bags upstairs.

Beautiful property and lovely staff. I will be staying here every time I’m in marseille for more than their three-night minimum. Breakfast was excellent and some days they had extra pastries from nearby bakeries

This hotel is in a great location, right at the old pier. My room was excellent, spotlessly clean and had everything I needed. The bathroom was a decent size also. I appreciated the complementary water, given I had a long day traveling. The reception staff were very welcoming when I checked in. While my room overlooked several restaurants and bars, it was quite at nighttime. I would certainly stay here again when I next visit Marseilles.

Great view of the old port of Marseille. Excellent location -- metro and bus are available right outside. Also lots of restaurants and cafes. Clean and comfortable room, though very basic (there is no electric kettle, no cupboard; there is a clothes rack with a few hangers). For those who have trouble with stairs -- do note that you have to climb a couple of flights of stairs to reach the lift.

Indeed, our hotel is a listed building dating from the 18th century thus the elevator is available from the 1st floor, and we are unable to place an elevator from the ground floor.

The hotel was ideally located next to the old port and a fantastic neighborhood to wander around in. Everything was very clean, the staff was friendly. They have an area for working which depending on how loud the staff plays their music can be ideal, it wasn't the day I tried to work there. The second call out is that reception is up two flights of stairs so be prepared to haul your luggage up two flights. Once you get to reception there is a small elevator to subsequent floors. If you are someone in your party has mobility challenges it will be a problem.

Nice hotel with friendly, helpful staff. I liked the location a lot. Despite being located in the busiest, most lively area across from the port, the room was very quiet. One recommendation for travelers: pack light if you plan to stay there - you need to haul your luggage up two flights of stairs until you get to reception. After that there’s a little lift that goes to the upper floors, which can fit two people without luggage or one person with a bag.

Best thing about the hotel is where it is located. The hotel was clean and quite funky. The room was small and basic but decent for the price given the location. Good shower and comfortable bed. Also good WiFi. Staff were nice overall, I stay at a lot of hotels and the blonde lady at reception wasn’t the friendliest, when we checked out she didn’t ask how the stay was or anything and simply said ok, bye. As if it was an inconvenience for her to do her job and check us out. Will give her the benefit of the doubt and put it down to the language barrier 😂 would recommend for the price!

We just had a quick overnight stay in Marseille, but loved Hotel LIFE — it has everything we needed, and none of the extra frills that we didn’t need. The rooms are very tasteful and incredible comfortable, with double-glazed windows so also very quiet at night but still with great views of the port. Our check-in was very late (after midnight) due to a flight delay, but there was still a friendly face to check us in at reception. We were slightly delayed checking out too (after a delay picking up a rental car) and the staff were very friendly and helpful then too. Highly recommend this hotel — it was exactly what we wanted and needed!

Wonderful hotel in Marseilles!
The staff at this hotel was amazing. Helpful, friendly, and very tolerant of my bad French. The room overlooking the harbor was spotless and had a wonderful view of the port. I researched hotels extensively before this trip and was thrilled with this choice and cannot recommend it highly enough.

This hotel is right in city center and seconds away from all you want to see. However, the level of cleanliness in our room was just okay - there were stains on the walls and the pillows were very thin. We would recommend if you are looking for a cheaper and we'll located place to stay

The property is in an old, reconditioned building with entrance from the street but reception on first floor with no elevator so don't come with big suitcases ( like we did!!). Tiny spaces from breakfast and reception area to rooms - minimal space to deposit suitcase and clothes, small everything but the bathroom was ok. Reception staff a bit confused, they double charged one of the rooms, they told us children don't pay breakfast up to 11 yo, after that, they charged even the 6 yo, and when asked they took it back and said children over 3yo are charged full bkf price. The hotel could be great but it needs to improve these hiccups and of course to pay some attention to details like staff friendliness and room decor. We stayed in a room on 4th floor with an elevated bed area (mattress on the floor/podium) but even if idea was nice the execution was poor, the plywood was left (on purpose??!) not painted, the room lacked attention even though it had great potential. Great views over the port for those rooms overlooking it. The other side rooms (the "classic" ones - curious what was classic in that) were another story - overlooking a wall of a neighboring building in ruins. Oh, yeah, and if you are a bad sleeper, get prepared or bring yr own pillow - their pillows are some small cushions, deflated and offering no support to head/neck. I had to put rolled clothes under it to be able to sleep. They have 1 extra pillow of same category and if you ask for one extra the answer is NO!!

Great stay
An extremely pleasant one-night stay -- the hotel is clean and secure, and very centrally located. If you're looking for something a bit off the beaten track (ie, less touristy), then this hotel may not be your first choice -- but if you want a place that is super charming and comfortable, with excellent staff and cute rooms, and right in the middle of the action, then this little gem is for you. Note: even though we were on the 1st floor with windows facing the busy street, it was super quiet at night -- those windows really do the job!

Great Central hotel for a weekend visit in Marseil
The hotel itself is very well situated ,right on the Old port and you can walk to anywhere on the city ,with a variety of restaurants ,shops and things to see. Very clean,modern and Eco friendly. Loved the concept of the dining area being like home away from home . Nice breakfast too. However we will point out a few things: 1. The entrance to the hotel is between 2 busy restaurants so not straightaway visible to the unknown eyes 2.once in the building its 3 flights of Stairs up before reaching reception so could be tricky if you have big suitcases and childrens buggie ,or even for.people with mobility issue. The lifts only start from reception level. 3.The Aircon unit in the rooms are locked outside of summer season so one needs to come to reception each time so they adjust room temperatures.

It was hard to find the hotel it was between 2 restaurants and not well marked. Check in was fine but not overly welcoming compared to other hotels. Breakfast was good and included. Location was awesome. Restaurant recommended was also great. Room was very small, bathroom nice and clean.
