Hi Michelle,Interesting review.Let's address the real issue.You tried sneaking a dog the size of a small horse into your room and you were caught.Yes, I came to the room you were enjoying and asked you to leave because you brought this LARGE dog into the room. You never mentioned a dog when you checked in, then waited until it was pitch black dark to sneak him into your room. The price was low because we offer clean, comfortable rooms at a discounted price. A price you took advantage of.The value is very good, you are upset because you got caught with your giant dog.I would like to welcome you back but I'm afraid I dont extend that to a guest who does what you did.To leave a review like this says a lot about you Michelle.Thanks,Tj/Manager

mold bleeding thru the bathroom ceiling paint some mold in the grout in the shower curtains are too thin, others outside can see in seems to be trying to clean up the place but has a a bit more work to do bathroom window left unlocked!!

Ratings on Expedia were higher than what's received. It was a very good rate, so my expectations may have been too high. Traveling for business w/needing a night's sleep, it was OK & I saved my company money. Best suggestions-place looks 'tired' & in need of TLC. Check-in area was very disorganized & smelled of cat. Nice gentleman, though. Room was OK-no mattress pad on bed; sheets were pilly; no kleenex; rugs vs just leaving the laminate floor exposed; office chair w/no desk; clean & freshen up windows; etc. Outside needs cleaning up-weeds pulled; wash down; litter clean-up; etc. Suggest taking 2 rooms every week & work from top to bottom being very pickey.

Hi,What a detailed review. Allow me to reply point by point.Expedia has us rated at 6 out of 10. You overall rated us 3 out of 5. Statistically you rated us higher than Expedia so I am not sure what to say beyond thank you.I agree about the "tired & in need of TLC" part. We have planned painting and other improvements coming once we move out of high season. As we are not a big chain hotel, we do not have a maintenance "crew" so work is planned when time opens and permits.As to the office being "disorganized", the check in process is very organized but I can see how one may get a "disorganized" thought. So again, because we are not a chain hotel, there is limited space. I wish I had a big room full of storage shelves etc but we don't so our office area can seem disorganized. I've had many guests in the office today and nobody notices any odor so I have no clue what you thought you smelled.We dont have any mattress "pads" or toppers on any mattresses. Again, we are not a big chain hotel with a large operating budget.Sheets being "pilly". I guess all I can reply with is we do not put brand new sheets on our beds after every guest leaves. NO hotel does that. Our sheets are replaced as needed."No kleenex". Kleenex is a brand name so I suppose you mean facial tissue. Again, we are not a big chain hotel with a large operating budget. The rooms have bathroom tissue. Unsure what you mean by "rugs vs just leaving laminate floor exposed". The room you were in has laminate flooring with an area rug. That is a common design theme so I don't know what the problem with that is.I agree about the office chair seeming out of place. I have been slowly buying slider rockers for all our king rooms. Again, not a large budget hotel chain so these kind of improvements take place as our budget allows.As far as the outside. I agree to a point. We do sweep up etc, clearly your expectation is that we need to have a "crew" working to paint, weed, sweep, remodel rooms etc and that just is not the case. We do sweep the lot, weeds get taken care of when we mow grass so in between mowings weeds start to sprout etc.The windows. I have brought that to the attention of my housekeeper, thank you.Seems you spent your 12 hours here going over the property with a fine tooth comb as opposed to your stated " needing a night's sleep". Thank you for your feedback, I will be sure to notify the owners how we need to triple our budget and hire a "crew" for guests such as yourself.Thanks for picking Marinette Inn for your stay. I apologize that as a small "mom and pop" motel, we don't have the operating budget of big chain hotels.You're more than welcome to return and I would gladly offer you a 10% discount.Tj/Manager

The owner was very personable and helpful. He was a great guy actually. The shower had llenty of hot water and pressure. Next door was a great family restaurant for eating so this was a great location. N it was a great location right off of hwy 41 and just down the street from everything of interest

I know from first hand experience that she sweeps and mops the floors. That said, I have asked her to be more diligent about that phase of her cleaning. I also do know from experience that often when the doors open and when people walk around with their shoes on that it does drag in sand etc. Perhaps this is what happened. That said, I want you to know that I have spoken to my housekeeper about this issue and would like to offer you a 10% discount should you come back through Marinette needing a motel.Thanks,Tj/Manager

Nice guy behind the desk. Black sheets are a no-no. See through curtain is not good. Shower was nice- good hot water. Towels were worn and questionable. A/C was cold but clammy/moist. Floor was carpet on cement and a bit gritty.

Hi Peter,Very detailed review. Thank you.Black sheets. A "no-no" as you said. According to who? Is this because typical motels use just white sheets? We try to be different. We are not a all the rooms are the same type of motel.I would say that they are not "see through" curtains. Are they blackout curtains? No. Perhaps we will replace them with blackout curtains. The towels. I replace towels as they do get worn. While I did not see the towels in your room that night I did go through our towel stock and I agree, some needed replacing and we did that. I apologize if your room had those.The A/C works fine so I am a bit confused by your statement about it being "clammy/moist".The carpet. Yes, the carpet and all the flooring is on top of cement. That is how the motel was built so there is nothing I can do to change that other than to raze the building and start all over. As to the "bit gritty", I have spoken to our housekeeper. She does vacuum so perhaps she needs to vacuum a little slower to allow the vacuum cleaner to fully remove any grit. I also know from experience that sand and grit do get into rooms from the door opening and it gets tracked in on shoes. Perhaps that is what happened.Either way, I spoke to our housekeeper about devoting a bit more time when she vacuums.Should you ever be in Marinette again, I would like to extend a 10% discount to you.Thanks,Tj

Fireworks were cool! Free episode of "Cops" was sad, but different. Nice to be up Nort again. people were friendly and your Walmart was decent size. The room was charming and decorated very nicely. Everything was close by. Thank you for accommodating me.

Mr. Craighead, As the Manager of Marinette Inn I want to thank you for your review as well as to take a moment to reply. My experience has told me that many people will book a room online with a budget friendly motel thinking they will somehow have a Marriot level hotel at a steep discount when that is simply not the case. We are a budget friendly motel that would traditionally be called a "mom and pop" motel. That means we work hard to provide a clean, comfortable, cozy room and try to make people feel "at home". In fact, we have worked tirelessly this past winter to upgrade this motel. To say it is "run down" is simply wrong. Perhaps you need to manage your expectations when you book online. If you want an expensive "chain" hotel then book that and dont expect that from a "mom and pop" motel. Tj/Manager

The hotel was filthy, smelled bad and in very poor condition-the outside door didn’t fit properly and had no safety lock. There was no garbage can in the room. There were dirty washcloths in the bathroom.

We couldn't stay here. Fortunately they gave us a refund. Our door wouldn't stay shut. The room was very old and it smelled. The bathroom had older towels in it, older than my oldest towel that I use for rags. I would rather sleep in my car.

I'm so sorry you feel this way. you mentioned that your room was sold, I do not recall a confirmed reservation located on our system that was assigned to you. when a room is requested but not actually confirmed, the room becomes allocated to "unmapped" (in order to give the guest a option to choose another room type) .or it is rejected. I apologize in this case. The customers needs are always our number one priority and if we find availability is not allowing the requested accommodations to be fulfilled, it is important for us to remain honest providers and communicate this information to allow the guest to decide whether or not compromise is a option. Stay away go for a more expensive place.
This place only had one sheet per bed and one pillow case for 4 pillows. Dirty and I hope your not charging us for it we left 5 minutes after seeing the room. You should take it off the list. They said they refunded it but I doubt it. They should pay you to stay there.

On behalf of the Facilities Team, I'd personally like to apologize in regards to your stay. There are no words to justify this method of Maintenance. Thank you for the review. Allocating issues such as these is important. The soul purpose is to allow arrangements and adjustments necessary to insure a better stay next time. Maintenance issues and guest Relations are diligently noted as priority and implementing plans to update regulatory procedure would not be possible with out the honest reviews. This will be addressed with staff and those responsible will be held accountable. Again, Marinette Inn is so sorry you experienced this. Refunds go through a approval process, once this process is complete, the refund is either allowed or denied. Acknowledgment forms are signed at check in, as long as the refund policy is acknowledged and the reason behind the refund fits the bill, approvals will be given . Approvals for refunds based on opinion of the state in which the room stands are set within a appropriate time range in order to allow a honest, fair, and fast transaction to be complete. If you have any further concerns we are staffed 24/7 and happy to help. Thank you for allowing us to address these issues.

Thank you for your feedback. As you were told when you rented the room, the carpets had been recently shampooed and with the very high humidity they had not fully dried. So what you were smelling was just a bit of dampness, not mold. At any time you could have came into the office and asked for a different room and I would have gladly moved you to another one.

Hotels.com Takes Reservation but Doesn’t Honor.
I made a reservation on Hotels.com. I went to check and they said they had no reservation. Totally ruined my week of vacation. I will never use Hotels.com again and am encouraging as many people as possible to not use it as well. If you plan all year for a trip, make a reservation only to find out they don’t honor the reservation makes your service not trustworthy and a scam.

You get what you pay for
When I entered the room, it was cold. I went to turn the heat on, but found it unplugged. It took 45 minutes to get warmth through the room & bathroom. The lamp and plugs next to the bed didn’t work as they weren’t plugged in and there was no where to plug them in. I don’t have high expectations at this price point, but do expect basics.

On this trip we were intentionally seeking out quaint roadside motels reminiscent of the old Route 66 places. This fit the bill perfectly. The people were very nice. The rooms were clean and the neighborhood was quiet.
