Great prices, very clean, wonderful staff. The property is unbelievably large and spread out to be in such a large, compact city. The only negative piece was the slant in the ceiling makes the rooms very short on one end. If you are a tall person like myself you have to bend over to get into the hotel room bathroom and shower. This wasn’t a huge problem for me but it might be a problem for someone older or with handicaps. Also, if you can’t go up stairs very well you shouldn’t opt to stay here. Thank you so much Hotel La Casa Grande!

It is a great old royal summer house. But it is a VERY hefty climb up three different sets of stairs to get to all rooms. That was not well disclosed. The heating system is old radiators that made the whole room like an oven. Very hard to adjust. The TV reception was awful! And the furniture was old, gaudy, and falling apart. All glitz and no substance!

We had a lovely trip to Madrid to start our three week vacation. Our stay at La Casa Grande was great. A bit out of the way but easy walking distance to bus stops and the train station. It was a funky old place but kept immaculately clean. We’d definitely go back.

Very nice hotel. Full of so much history and the decor is original from the 16th century. You feel like youve stepped back in time but its gorgeous. Loved it 100%. The staff are also amazing. We got there early and were allowed to check in early which really helped us enjoy our stay and last night in Madrid. Location is quiet as well which we loved and the hotel has plenty to do with a museum, tavern, and dining hall.

Bad experience

Hotel is Museum very old building smell of dampness lack of air inside the building and room. Heavy woody smell and most of the building inside is wood , but you can here termites at work in the night with constant cracking sound. Furniture is old , bed have springs pushing and making holes in the body. Place is run by just 1 guy he is nice but doing many things. Air condition does not work well and blew the air right in head just above the bed . I arrived late night place was locked huge iron gates outside and after several attempts help by taxi driver someone came to open to the gates. Not recommended for stay.

Madrid by-pass

Beautiful hotel in a period building dating back to the 16th century. Naturally no elevators exist so bags need to be man handled. Staff are very happy to help. Furnishings in the hotel are items to behold.

As fotos apresentadas como o quarto da reserva não condizem com o quarto oferecido. O valor era alto para nós, mas achamos que seria uma experiência única, num lugar bem legal, eis que vimos nosso quarto... Questionei o fato e simplesmente disseram que se tratava de uma suíte especial, mas então que não coloquem fotos dela em outras acomodações. Foi pura ilusão. O lugar até é interessante, mas tínhamos que percorrer todos os salões e a iluminação era bem precária.

Hotel with history

Nice hotel, building with hundreds years of history, service is good but not as a conventional hotel it is like being at home. Good internet connection bathroom with jacuzy to relax after a long day, train station is close by to go to Madrid.
