Disaster behind the scenes of the wedding
From the VRBO listing we were greatly mislead on what we found. Three was subpar communication on the check in/check out process and there were notes on housekeeping and WiFi info taped to the walls. The space was as big as expected but had disappointments ranging from insufficient towels to dirty sheets, a front load washer that wouldn't work, an oven that you had to add an extra 100 degrees to the heat to work properly and hot water heater that ran out of hot water after two showers. There was hair on the king bed sheets which we had to take off site to clean and dry and gunk on the shower heads. Last but not least we came back from the wedding Friday after midnight to find half of the basement under water and my son and his family's clothes were soaked. They had to sleep in the living room that night. My daughter was thoroughly disgusted with the experience and spent Saturday night in a hotel with her family. The cleaning lady who came to clean up on Saturday did not get there until the afternoon and we had already cleaned up most of the water. Prior to this our worst experience was in Orlando where a bed in the house had been vomited on and not cleaned and the bed smelled horrible.This is our second bad experience with VRBO but this is unacceptably bad. We suggested some compensation at least for the family that stayed in a hotel but as of yet no response from the owner. Losing confidence with VRBO and would not recommend this house until these issues are fixed.
