This was our first stay at the Grand Adirondack, it had been recommended by a friend. We were certainly NOT disappointed! From check-in to check-out the entire experience was wonderful. The staff were very helpful and considerate. The location is excellent, the room was one of the finest we'd stayed in, the beds were very comfortable and we both slept like babies. Some may complain about having to pay for the valet parking, but it was worth knowing there was 24-7 security in the parking lot. There was no complimentary breakfast but we were fine with that, it gave us options to go elsewhere. Overall, a 5 star experience. It will be our first choice on our next trip to Lake Placid!

The property is in a great location to see the town of Lake Placid. the hotel is well kept and offers both dining and drink options. Rooms were clean and had enough room to move around in!

Good and Bad!
There were things we liked and things we didn't like about the hotel. First, what we liked! Great location. Right on the quaint Main Street in town where there were lots of shops and restaurants. And we had a view of the lake from our room. Also, the room is actually two rooms - a bedroom and a sitting room with a sleeper sofa, coffee table, chair and TVs in both rooms. Also, for a low price paid when booking, we were able to get a nice breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel for less of a price than they normally charge in the restaurant. Now, the things I didn't like....... first thing I noticed was a dead bug (cockroach - yuck!) on the window sill. That grossed me out. Two things that would improve the room a great deal: first, more light! There were not enough lights and the ones that were there were very dim. We are in our 70's and I had difficulty reading by the lights. The bedroom at least had a big window and natural light. But, the bedroom consisted of a bed, two night stands and a TV hanging on the wall. My second suggestion: a small table and chairs - there was plenty of room for it - in either room. There was no desk or table - only the coffee table. We ate in both nights and leaning over the coffee table to eat was not great. I have a bad back. Also, I brought my computer and again, having to lean over to work on the coffee table - not comfortable! Also, you are given no choice but Valet parking for $19 a day.

Freshly revovated hotel (former North Woods) now member of the Marriot family. Great look, comfortable beds, clean, great location right in the center of beautiful Lake Placid. The staff was friendly and courteous. Note that there is no self parking, valet service is mandatory and fast. Around 20$ if i remember correctly. I recommend this hotel and would return!

Very nice to stay. Room was lovely except for the lack of hot water when it came time for our showers. And parking is great as long as you get valet parking. Staff were great. Friendly and helpful.

Central location and convenient to dining and shopping on Main Street. Rooms are comfortable but infrastructure is old. For the price, I would recommend it. Breakfast was excellent!

The hotel is located on the main street, but the main entrance is from the parking lot. If there was a parking option, I was offered valet parking for $20 The restaurant closed at 9 o'clock on Sunday. If you are visiting on the weekend, be prepared for this I really liked the opportunity to have free tea in the lobby The rooms are large and very clean

Our stay over all was great, we would definitely stay again in the future. The only bad thing was the the loud people on the street and partying in the early morning hours. Which as nothing to do with the hotel.

Excellent stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooftop bar was great, with excellent views. The real winner was the food at the restaurant which was absolutely incredible. The food alone will be bringing us back. Our only negative comment was that the lake view windows needed to be cleaned badly. Otherwise an excellent stay in beautiful Lake Placid
