Retired snowbirds……..
…….testing the waters of a winter getaway and we loved our stay in this beautiful home on Calcasieu Lake! Everything we needed for our extended stay was right at our fingertips in this very well-maintained and well-equipped house/camp. My husband loved fishing from both the dock and from his kayak in the surrounding waters and I thoroughly enjoyed sunny afternoons spent on the back porch or yard with a good book to read. Sunsets are not to be missed!! We enjoyed exploring the Lake Charles and surrounding areas with their beautiful parks, beaches, and yummy seafood restaurants. Thank you, Paula, for all you did to make our stay so pleasant!

Beautiful view of lake
We enjoyed our stay at your wonderful lake house. We used this house as main gathering area for our family, as we had rented 2 other properties in the area. With the extra tables and chairs you provided we were able to have all 24 of us share a meal together there and it worked very well.

Great weekend
Impressive property that really delivered. We used it for a short family get together and had a great time. The property included many extras including grill and a set up to boil shrimp all in a screened area. Dock and pier were great and the fishing was even good off the pier. Property was clean and ready to go with sufficient dishes etc for a large group. Would stay again.

80th Birthday Family Trip
We had a wonderful trip and loved the Lake house. As our family is scattered all over , we’ve traveled and gathered in many vacation homes but this was by far our favorite. The house was so well stocked with quality furnishings and extras. There was so much attention paid to details and so much more than was expected from a rental. We had such a wonderful time enjoying our morning coffee on the porch , cooking full course meals in the kitchen, playing games and watching movies in the roomy, comfortable family room and fishing, relaxing and enjoying sunrise to sunset on the pier. It’s such a peaceful place and we will definitely be back! Paula was so accommodating and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We loved everything about the home and highly recommended 😃

Beautiful Lake Home A++++
Such an amazing place. We celebrated my birthday at this amazing place. All of our friends that celebrated with us agreed this is a great place! So beautiful.. The manicured lawn is so beautiful! The pier is awesome too! We were able to have our boats there over night, so nice to have the lifts. Also, fishing off of the pier was amazing! We caught crabs, shrimp and speckled trout. A true sportsman paradise. We will be back!!!

Sumer fishing vacation
This property is the best place that I have stayed on big lake. I usually do not need this much room but it is nice when you do. It is a good location on the water and has boat lifts. The kitchen is as well supplied with cooking utensils as my house where most properties do not have a good supply. The down stairs screened room is very nice and has a nice grill and boiling equipment.

Family vacay
This property is awesome! We spent 3 nights here with our 3 sons and their families. It was a perfect setup - each family had their own bedroom space with an attached bathroom. The facilities are unbelievable! The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The open floor plan allowed us to play games at night with lots of space. We cooked in the downstairs room several times and set up the tables and chairs in the breezeway for eating and hanging out. The yard and landscaping is beautiful. We enjoyed the deck out on the water even though we didn’t catch any keeper fish. Quiet and peaceful, Great location! We take a family trip every year and this is one of the nicest properties we have ever been to and Paula is a great host.

Softball World Series
Our team stayed here for the Jennie Finch World Series and had the best time!!! The host was amazing and so was the house. Our kids enjoyed fishing and swimming in the lake and are already wanting to stay here again next year. Thanks for everything!

We rented this beautiful home with another family for Memorial Day weekend. We all agreed that we would love to go back! The home is incredibly spacious, very beautiful and updated, came equipped with all the basic necessities (toilet paper, towels, dish soap, trash bags, laundry detergent, cooking appliances etc) Was SO NICE that we didn’t have to worry about going get all that. Additionally, the AC units worked perfecty in every room. The kids loved having their own private quarters and the parents loved the 2 master suites in the main part of the house. The outside grounds were so lovely. Well maintained landscaping, beautiful large dock, rocking chairs on the porch, huge downstairs area to cook. Highly recommend booking this home. We hope to go back!

Birthday in Paradise
I had the opportunity to celebrate my birthday in paradise with friends and family. I woke up to a view over looking Calcasieu Lake and was so Beautiful. The home was better than advertised by the photos. Communication was 100% from the initial booking . We caught fish off the pier watched the Sunset it was an Amazing Relaxing Weekend we will definitely be booking again

Getting away to the Lake
Everything in the house was reflected in the VRBO advertisement - and yet it was better than the pictures. Very comfortable and offered a relaxing break from life as usual. Highly recommended - and this is from a well seasoned global traveler (who can't travel very far right now due to pandemic). Our lake weekend was simply wonderful

Great camp and location
Our family stayed at this camp for 5 nights in late summer. I would highly recommend it. Everything is clean and up to date. The owner was tremendous to work with. We fished off the dock during the day and under the lights at night. It’s on a dead end so it’s quiet and to itself. We brought our own kayaks and you can kayak fish to the north. We would highly recommend.

Everything Complete
We were so happy with the cleanliness of the home, every one felt comfortable, the space provided made such a difference! The balconies, the pier, all the rockers, the extras for children, the swings, the pack and play, all this made our stay easier and so complete. There was nothing missing, it was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook, clean and play! Our compliments to Kim, the housekeeper, she did a great job! We would love to come back! Such a gem!
We stayed here during our state baseball tourney with a few other families on the team! We were all WOWED! Such a great place and it feels like Paula thought about everything!! There wasn’t many times we had to say “I wish I would have thought to bring XYZ” because she had it covered! The kids loved the fishing, and the layout was perfect! No one was on top one another and it was so spacious! Can’t wait to book here again!

Great Spot for family getaway and fishing
I gathered a group of 7 of me and my friends, and there was plenty of room. It is basically a really nice house with a hotel attached to it. People were able to retire to their rooms when they were ready. The covered parking is a great perk also. The master bedroom has the most comfortable bed in it also. The open concept kitchen and living room is perfect for entertaining and relaxing. The furnishings were high quality and didn’t need to bring much on the trip.

Great Camp with lots of extras
The camp is in a great quiet location. They provide so many extras! The house has so much room with privacy for different families. The view and pier were beautiful and we enjoyed them daily. We rent often and as a family we agreed this was by far one of our top picks! We will be back and have recommended this place to many of our friends and family!

Best of Big Lake
We had a group of four couples stay for the weekend. It was a great experience from the get go. Paula is a great host. The way she set everything up in the house and her responsiveness prior to check-in made it the smoothest process I have ever had on a vacation rental. We had a crawfish and crab boil the first night and there were already two great boiling pots with propane tanks out there ready for us to use. They also had four foldable tables and too many chairs to even count. We didn't need to bring anything but ourselves. Paula explains the camp extremely well in the listing and it is even better than your expectations once you get there. The ice machine in the bar area works great and kept up with a group of 8 people who like to enjoy themselves all weekend. To top it off, Paula had a fishing guide ready for us to call. He was great guide and we caught 30 trout when the weather was not wanting to cooperate with us. We spoke to several other fishing parties that day that did not catch a thing. I am looking forward to renting from Paula each time we head to Big Lake and we are looking forward to bringing family back soon.

It was a great retreat away and it suited our family perfectly! Will definitely rent again!
Perfect house for our family. Owners made it so easy to choose from all the other rentals on the market, from the great location on the water to the spacious living area and generous amenities provided with the house. Fishing was great and we wrapped up our evenings with beautiful sunsets. Can’t wait to go back!

Big Lake Weekend
This property on Big Lake was nothing short of amazing. Great patio overlooking water for your morning coffee. Plenty of room for more than one family. Wonderful water view from one of the masters. Even the small things were impressive like ample amounts of quality hand soaps, shampoos, towels, etc. The kitchen has everything you need. The list of greats is too much to list. My family and I rent a lot of places for weekends on the water across Louisiana. This property is top 3 and maybe #1 in our list of past rentals. When we love a place we go back and we are definitely renting this place again this year. On top of that, the owners (Mrs Paula) was very helpful and responsive during the stay to just check in and make sure we were ok to tips on pier fishing. Just an overall great experience at a great place!
