The property had nice pools with various bonus features, a spa pool, saunas and steam rooms. The spa pool needs a hand rail for older patrons. The breakfast was good. I didn't eat the eggs because they had spinach imbedded in them. Our room was small with limited seating, but there was various public seating.

Nice stay with comfortable sauna.
We with our family were staying at hotel only one night but it was very nice stay. Hotel has sauna access with very nice sauna and we have used it twice - at evening and in the morning after breakfast as my daughter loves sauna a lot. Room was quiet small and equipped with foldable chair and staff provided us extra foldable bed which was good enough for small kid. It also had TV with Netflix availability which is very good bonus. Sauna vas very nice as it was all together and there was special area for kids with their own stairs where water wasn't so deep and it was possible to sit in sauna and take a look after kids while sitting there. Parking was possible in territory but it was occupied already so we left car on the street which was quiet convenient and very close to main entrance of hotel.

Service and spa was great with outdoor pool and saunas. Room was modern, but at the beginning beton walls and ceiling looked a little bit scary, but without curtains and sunlight it was better and not so disturbing. Breakfast buffet was great, variety of choices that tasted really good. They also had free parking in hotel parking places or street in front of hotel.

Long weekend at Johan Spa Hotell - good spa
The staff were polite and helpful, breakfast choice was vast and the Spa area was good. The children loved the pools and hot tub. Having an area within the main pool for children was a clever idea we'd not seen before. The temperature outside was around 21 degrees but the room was really hot with no evidence of air con so could not cool it down and the corridor on the third floor was even hotter like being in an oven. The room appeared clean, however, on the first evening I found a large chunk of cucumber skin on the floor and it wasn't ours! We stayed three nights and the room was not made up, bins emptied etc. after the first night but was after the second night. Only one bin was emptied and the cleaner took the bath mats and some of the towels but didn't replace them so we were left with not enough for each person. The room not being serviced was fine for us and we were out a lot. I would have expected a superior room to have had a fridge and coffee facilities but neither were provided. It is a nice hotel and we had a discounted rate but some things could be improved.

Johan Spa has excellent location, walking distance to main city centre street with shops and resturants. Hotel was clean and all was acceptable. Little tired and worn out bedding and towels were dissappointing, though they were clean. Quiet hotel. Nice little outoor yard with small pool.

Friendly staff, great breakfast and super convenient location. However, the bed was not comfortable. We asked for a queen size bed but got two single beds next to each other. Also the sauna doors had opening at the bottom making it almost impossible for the sauna to heat up. It was also not possible to close the curtains in the shower due to how they are hanged.

Convenient hotel if you are driving a car. The spa was lovely and the room was clean overall. Breakfast could have been better - take your own black tea bag if you’re a tea drinker. Overall, it was ok for a small town. Everything is within walking distance.

Overall quality of the hotel is very good but there are some little things that bothered us and which do not allow you to say it is excellent. Firstly, we could hear literally word by word what was going on in the oppisite room. Suppose the sound came through the vent. Secondly, no aircon and no heated bathroom floor. That resulted as a smelly room as you step in, also none of the towels dried over the night. We were given two XL robes for the spa, both were worn out. If you reserve a room for 2 adults and a one-year-old I suppose you don’t expect both adults being 2m tall :). The restaurant is far too small for serving breakfast, when we arrvived it was overcrowded and the kitchen was struggling to keep all the food out and served. The quality was really good though. On the other hand there were plenty of things that were well thought of - I really liked the bar in the courtyard, spa was nice and cosy, ouside pool area was great. The interior design was modern yet cosy.

Good place in Kussaare
My husband and I went to Kussaare as part of a trip to Estonia. Our adult daughter came with us. Overall the Johann Spa Hotel was a good place to stay. It is central to the attractions and restaurants. Most of what we wanted to do was within walking distance. The breakfast buffet was ample, although my daughter and I are vegan so our choices were limited(bread, jam, peanut butter, salad) They did not have non-dairy milk for coffee or cereal even though it is available in several restaurants. The one criticism I had is I booked a room for three adults and the extra bed was not good for an adult. It was a pull out chair that sagged at the top so it was not comfortable for my daughter. She wound up booking another room. When I spoke with the manager I was told that the room we got is one of their largest rooms. That being said, he did reimburse us for the extra bed for the two nights we did not need it. Overall, Iwould recommend the hotel, but not for more than two adults in a room

Small rooms, no space.
The room (303) was very small and there was no place to the put your things on. This applies especially to the rest room but also elsewhere. It was very hot too and we could not open the window which was stuck. The window was also broken since previous guests had tried to open it by force. Service otherwise was ok and the breakfast good enough. But the area were you needed to collect the food for breakfast was tiny and people had to wait in order to reach the food they wanted to pick up from the breakfast buffet.

Relaxing one night stay
Very nice hotel with indoor and outdoor pool as well as sauna and steam room. Room was very nice and very clean. Only downside was that the lounge was closed the night we were there and there were some renovations going on in the town which made finding somewhere to eat a bit more difficult (though this is of course not the hotel's fault).

The staff was great about getting us in for last minute appointments at the spa when we arrived. They have a lengthy list of treatments to choose from. The location was excellent with most activities being right within walking distance; restaurants, a small beach, and Kuressare Castle. Breakfast was also a plus because there was a good selection and it ran till 11am for those on vacation sleep mode. If you're looking for a quiet spa location, this is not quite the place as there were lots of kids running around at both pools. The saunas and the spa treatment area were pretty kid free, but the indoor pool got super loud with the amount of children. I definitely didn't read the fine print on that. If you're doing a family trip this is 100% the place for you!

A good pick for the area.
It was very comfortable.The room was small but had a window so not stuffy. Reception was a mixed bag.Breakfast was average.I tried the Spa and it was nice enough for a small hotel.I arrived by Motorola and there was a free,convenient,covered parking place.It was not,however secure. I doubt there is much risk.

very nice and quiet hotel though the room and bathroom were a little bit small. nice and friendly staff. very good buffet breakfast, free parking and wifi. but the best of this hotel is the free spa, including 2 swimming pools(indoor and outdoor), sauna, hot tubs...which make it very relaxing. Täydellinen sijainti. Huone aika ahdas, erityisesti pesuhuone/suihku, vaan ei sinne huoneessa ollut tarkoituskaan aikaa viettää ja suihkutukset voi hoitaa Spa-puolella. Henkilökunta tosi mukavaa. Sähköauton lataukseen kaksi paikkaa, tosin vaatinee joko paikallisen puhelinliittymän tai lahjakortin oston (halvin 20€) tai 24h voimassaolevan kortin "lainaamisen" reapasta hintaan 25€. Ilmastointia eikä jääkaappia ei huoneessamme ollut, mutta sijainti ja henkilökunnan ystävällisyys korvaa kaikki pienet puutteet....

Ventilation Put it in the rooms Sleeping with open windows might work even if I don’t understand why must guests do that easier is to fix ventilation it’s common sense, but problem with that hotel is that trash cans in somewhere around and five in the morning trucks who pick them wake you up Owners should really stay themselves there and try that amazing experience
