Sorry there is limited cell service unless you are a Rogers, Shaw, of Fido and some limited Telus customer. Sounds like you had a good time regardless, hope to host you again!

You can't argue that the place isn't pretty cool. It's not a rustic cabin in the Woods it is well appointed with all the amenities that you need. I was really quite comfortable there and enjoyed my visit immensely.

Nice and comfortable, however, during our stay due the snowstorm and power outages for over twenty hours, cottage became very cold, luckily we’re able to get the BBQ to work, it was an unforgettable experience.

thank you for the review. During the time of this visit (Dec 2022) the south coast of Vancouver Island received a large amount of snow fall and colder than usual temps which is unprecedented for the area. This causes 30-50 trees to fall over power lines. This cottage is also equipped with a gas fireplace for when the power goes out.

The cabin that we stayed at was perfect for us. The setting was great. The kitchen provided everything we needed to cook. My only complaint is that the cover photo shows venues that are not available.

Hi Jane, thanks for the review. In regards to the cover photos they are a combination of the various cottages in the area. Each cottage has their own description and photos.

Thanks Douglas for your feedback. We are sorry you felt mislead by the advertising. Approximately half of our cottages are above the marina looking out over the water while the other half are garden view and setback from the water. Unfortunately the way the site is designed is similar to a hotel layout where you have group pictures applying to the property as a whole, but to see your individual cottage (room) you need to select the individual room photo reel. I will review the listing to make sure it is reflective of the intent.

Wonderful stay. Only thought was that there were so many beautiful decorations on surfaces, we had to move a bunch to have place for our own stuff and it was then trying to remember where to put it all back.

I liked how private it was and everything that you wanted was in the cabin. Even firewood and an axe. There was wifi there but the one thing I didn’t like was that there was no cable tv. Other than that it was great

My family and i were very happy with this cottage. It is well cared for and tidy. the view is awesome and havinf the hot tub right out side the front door was great.

A heavenly spot!
Our stay in On the Rocks was a dream come true! Beautiful inside and out! It made our other accommodations on the trip feel shabby in comparison. If you want an out of the way spot for hiking, fishing, and enjoying the view, this is the place for you. No cell service but very good WiFi in the cabin and businesses. A few restaurants, general store and gas station nearby. FYI - Two flights of stairs to get to the cabin and the bedroom has limited room around the bed if mobility/maneuverability is an issue for you. Would stay again in an instant!

This property is in a wonderful location. It has a gorgeous deck with a patio heater and a BBQ. The unit is very private and pet friendly. I would use this cabin again

Private Peaceful Cabin in the woods
We stayed two nights in the Dave and Morley cabin (aka #84). It was very inviting, quiet and most important....a great place to relax. Loved that the cabin has a private balcony surrounded by trees and a set of chairs to enjoy a beverage. Location was a 5 minute drive to the most amazing beaches....Botanical and Botany Bay. It was just what we needed! And the best part...it is only about 2 hour drive away from Victoria :)

Best part was the dog friendly part wth a gated deck safe for the dogs. Cabin was a little tight with 2 adulys and bog dogs. No shops to speak of for food and we were prepated for that. Great walking beaches and old growth forest nesrby.

It was very nice. However the bed mattress was too soft. It sunk 3" when you got in and made creaking noises. You slept "in" it....not "on" it. The front door worked ok with the detailed directions, but it should be fixed to not need such specific details.the rest was very nice. A cute doll house in a nice doll house community.

Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review Gary, the 4 star is much appreciated. Some people like soft mattress, other like it hard, it is difficult to please everybody. Having said that, we will be sure to test the bed, and make the necessary changes if needed. Thanks for brining this to our attention. The door is a much more difficult thing to fix. Port Renfrew is a very damp area, and wood door will swell, or contract depending of the season. When guest follow the instruction to push slightly on the door after doing the code, all work properly :) We are please to learn that you enjoyed your stay with us. Best Regards

It is possible to walk by the ocean, by taking the stairs down to the marina. There is also a trail nearby to get to the beach without driving.
