Didn’t stay.
It was terrible, an hour and a half drive from Indio where we were going to the 3 night concert, we had no idea that the highway was a death trap . I didn’t even pickup the keys , there was no way I was driving that road at two in the morning

A roof over your head and that’s it.
When we first arrived we passed by the rental and went straight to the main house because we thought the structure was a shed. Once we figured out we were staying in the “shed” we opened the door and was greeted by suffocating heat. No windows could be opened other than the small window in the door and they only provided a box fan. Our first words to each other were “This is definitely a set up to a horror movie.” The unit is a studio with the barest of essentials available. Not at all what I thought when I read the listing or saw pictures. This rental IS NOT a short walk from town. The shower had clumps of hair. Ants were crawling on almost every surface: nightstands, bathroom counter, bed, walls. Not worth the rental price, not a comfortable stay. (lol… if that wasn’t obvious) At least my husband’s birthday weekend will be a running joke for years to come about how we stayed in the sketchy “nightmare shed” and made our own ac with bags of ice and a fan.

Never would stay here again
It felt dirty and we woke up itching. I used my own blanket and slept with cloths on to avoid the itching my partner experienced. Afraid I brought bed bugs home with me. I got really sick from using the water to cook.

Quiet Cozy Cabin
Perfect for our needs. Tucked away in the pines, the quiet setting was very relaxing. After long days of outdoor activities, the memory foam mattress provided comfortable, restful sleep. Two electric heaters warmed up the space nicely. Wifi signal was decent for four devices. Stand up shower was sufficient. Kitchenette has no sink, so cookware was cleaned in the bathroom which was not a problem for us. It was nice to see that the property manager took past reviews into consideration to improve the cabin. Glad we drove a 4x4 vehicle as recommended in the listing. Would absolutely stay again.

It was a very peaceful and nice little cabin in the middle of nowhere. The check in process was a nightmare. They had an office that no one told us to check into. We waited at the cabin for 2 hours before heading into town to get reception. The lady answered and said she would wait for us. We thought she meant the cabin, but she was referring to an office we knew nothing about. We didn't check in until 10pm.

DO NOT STAY HERE!
Totally unsuitable for children. I felt very very UNSAFE . My children are 8 and 10 and it was totally unsafe and sketchy. It looks nothing like it is pictured. Very dingy and dirty. Icky Icky vibes inside. The main house it is attached to is a mess. The internet is too weak to even watch a movie on the TV. The front porch lights didnt work. The creek near by is down a danger steep hill. A dilapidated tree house high in trees that could fall on children. No one near by. Felt totally unsafe. This unit should not be rented out. It is disgusting and UNSAFE.

Great, remote location but close enough to walk into Idyllwild. It’s a pretty good up hill hike back though. Exactly what we were looking for. Accommodations were very comfortable but rustic.

Misrepresentation (NOT PALM SPRINGS)
This place is NOT anywhere near palms springs as what is advertised by vrbo... the listing claims it’s less than 10 miles from Palm Springs city center ... it’s NOT ... very disappointing... also they needed my drivers license and all kinds of funky paperwork... it was a nightmare ... would not recommend ... might be a nice place but I was looking for a place in Palm Springs not Idyllwild...this kinda ruined our trip ... we ended up staying with friends at another place but not ideal having to stay with them due to covid. I really hope my family doesn’t get covid... if we did it’s surely because of this bull shit

Bad experience
Traveled for a little getaway with my family to relax and give my kids some snow fun. The property first was hard to get to, there weren't no signs with the property name to help guide us through. We went back to the office location and a manager was able to escort us to the property. By the time we got there it was dark so we started to turn on the lights, but 2 out of 3 lamps were in working conditions. The lighting was pretty bad, to the point that I was unpacking out a change of clothes with the help of the flashlight from my phone. 1 lamp was not working and all were very dusty, well the whole property was. A basket in the kitchenette where plates were placed was very dusty. I understand that the property is in the mountains and there is dust, but not tho the point where I'm trying to turn on lights and getting dust cobwebs on my hands. Thankfully I traveled with my own disposable plates and utensils that I didn't need to use the ones at the property. The tosteroven was very dirty and full of crums, looked disgusting and didn't use it either. There was no basket in the restroom, but the funny part was that there was a sign at the door that said not to flush anything down the toilet! So what were supposed to do? The aerosol spray in the restroom was very dirty and filthy looking too. We did try to overlook at all the problems, but nevertheless it was a bad experience overall. Beware of this property it is not as pictured.

Nice getaway
We liked the location and the cottage was perfect for us to relax in at night as we were mostly out and about during the days. My only criticism is that the cottage was ended up being more than double the advertised nightly rate with all the additional fees. I would prefer to have chosen something that closer to the advertised cost as I initially chose this location because it seemed affordable, yet with all the additional fees I probably could have found a larger space or even a hotel.

The biggest perk of this property is location, away from the highway n a charming place in the woods. The cabin is outdated, poorly insulated, not as clean as we were expecting, with a coffee pot that doesn’t work and not even a hot plate to boil water. Charming little cabin with so much potential, would not completely rule out not staying here again, but would have to be during the year when a heater or an air conditioner is not needed. The property management company was great, communicative, and informative.

No AC/ the bathroom lights did not work and the breaker did not fix it. We had an ant invasion as well. You have to have an SUV or truck to get down the road to the cabin. Other than that a very secluded and quiet place.

Tiny cabin in the forest
Cute tiny cabin in the forest. The location was nice near town. Unfortunately we don’t have a four wheel drive . The road was very hard get up with the car we have. Bed was very comfortable and cozy. Loved that it was pet friendly. There is no sink other then the bathroom sink to wash up in. For me and my husband we love nature and would stay anyplace in our price range. So if you want to just get away in a basic cabin it’s ok for a few nights stay.

We stayed at the Indian Rock Studio over the MLK holiday. The location is great and pretty secluded, right next to a flowing stream and lots of trees. The cabin itself is a bit dated, though. There was no kitchen, just a "kitchenette" of sorts - a mini fridge, toaster oven, microwave, and a coffee pot. There were two heaters that worked pretty well. The issues: the deadbolt was busted only having to rely on the handle lock. There was an outlet behind the futon which was broken and metal is exposed which can cause an electric shock (keep an eye on your little ones). The shower and sink faucets were confusing to use and the hot water was very limited - you are lucky to get a 10 minute shower before it got cold. The showerhead was somewhat adequate. The toilet took a long time to flush and clogged easily. The bed appears to be a bed in a box and was really comfortable, and the sheets and comforter were very clean. The property says four, but I don't recommend it as it felt quite tight. Oh, and the TV doesn't come with any service or DVD player - you have to bring your own 'service' (like Roku, Amazon Fire, or Chromestick). Also, the wi-fi is okay but was pretty spotty. Not all of our devices were able to get decent service. Another note: We have phone service from three providers: T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T. They were all pretty spotty

A really special area
There were a few hiccups - arriving in heavy snow and the directions made it nearly impossible to find the house; circuits were tripped many times just by running a few things at once; no microwavable bowls/plates available (it was a kitchenette, so this would've been very nice). But otherwise, Idyllwild is a wonderful little town, and I had a great stay at this cabin. It's quite removed from everything, and provided a very peaceful place to stay.
