Our five unit property was featured in the January/February 2020 issue of Southern Living, and we are honored and thrilled!

Welcome to our Cottage! This listing is the north side of the duplex. If you are looking for a simple, quiet, stress-free place to enjoy the beach, this is it. It's not a fancy condo-- no long hallways, distant parking, elevators, or crowds. Best of all, the cottage is beachfront, so there are no streets to cross-- just a sandy walk through the dunes. The Cottage is a duplex, and this listing is for the smaller side. VRBO #77482 will show you the larger side. The two sides share a screened porch facing the beach.

The cottage was constructed in 1916 or so, as a caretaker's home for a larger house which is now gone. It has been carefully maintained and updated, but has retained the charm of a bygone era.

The interior walls are heart pine, and so are the floors, refinished by hand. Furnishings have been chosen for comfort-- a rattan recliner and matching pillow top queen size sleeper sofa in the living room, dining table for two, and king size bed in the bedroom.

It's shaded by ancient Australian pine trees and has a comfortable shared screened porch for a front-row view of the sunsets and stars. With the windows open at night, you can hear the surf!

Walk directly out the screen porch door, and down to the beach--no streets to cross. Or, sit out on the patio and enjoy your coffee and newspaper, or cocktails. Our guests tell us that the best part of the patio area, (besides the view) is it's size-- plenty of room for spreading out.

We are located a block away from the Cafe on the Beach, convenient for all-you-can-eat pancake breakfasts, quick lunches, and relaxing dinners. The beach-front playground is a block and a half away. Take the free trolley and see the rest of the island.

We loved the historical feel of the cottage and proximity to the beach. It was a relaxing, rejuvenating visit and we appreciated the hospitality basket upon our arrival. This was one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever had. If you are wanting to relax and enjoy the beach this is the place for you. Old Florida is the vibe with everything you would need for two! Very clean, bed was comfortable, well supplied for us to get away and reset before the new year.

This place is in the perfect location for a wonderful beach get away. Steps from the beach with breathtaking sunrise walks and sunset shows. The beach chairs and umbrella were a nice perk as well. The space was cozy, comfortable, and the air condtioner cold! Alice is a fantastic communicator and was prompt to answer all my questions. Close to the grocery store and restaurants. 10/10 would stay here again. My only complaint is that I did not stay long enough.

Thanks to all of the prior raters who gave this property such a good reputation. It’s very clean, is well maintained, has beautiful grounds, is only steps to the beach, is centrally located, has a grocery within walking distance…. Too many good things to list. We were fortunate enough to meet our host and she’s just the most pleasant and likable person. Great stay all around!!

Not only was the property perfect and cozy, the owner was delightful and accommodating. The sounds of the ocean at night was so relaxing and the property was very clean. I would highly recommend the property to others, especially someone traveling alone!

Loved the property location. Close to everything you need. It is a duplex yet it still felt very private. I would highly recommend this place for a weekend getaway or a week long trip for two. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. Alice the owner was so nice and it was nice to meet her.

We just had a short stay in Cabin 2. We loved it. Very cozy and comfortable and we had everything we needed. It was a perfect spot - just a quick walk down a pathway to a beautiful beach. Good location close to everything. We would definitely recommend it it you are thinking about staying here!

My husband and I had a wonderful long weekend in Cottage 2 and will definitely be back. It's an amazing place - the property reminds me of what Florida used to look like, but stores and restaurants are so close... We loved the cottage and the hospitality was amazing, from the welcome sign with our names on the door to the basket of goodies waiting for us. We can't wait to come back.
