The location was quiet and a short walk to the main sightseeing attractions. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly. Not much to fault.

It's a great place if you're gonna stay a few days, the breakfast is great 👍 and the rooms too. Definitely I'd choose it again. If you have a lot of luggage, I'd strongly recommend go there through bus, if you take the S-Bahn there'll be a lot of stairs

Weekend Getaway
Although the hotel is not city center, two bus stations are within a three minute walk of the hotel. The hotel is clean and modern and the breakfast buffet was plentiful. if you do not choose to partake in the breakfast at the hotel, there are small bakeries nearby. The rooms were comparable to most chain hotels in Europe and the added water in the fridge was a bonus. I would stay again.

Location okay, but not close enough to the center to walk, about 10 euro cab ride. Staff could be nice especially in the coffee shop which also is the restaurant if you are not part of a larger group. Room alright although bathrooms not made very functional.

We stayed at the hotel with a 9 month old baby- the cot provided was good. Traditional wooden cot with mattress. Staff were helpful when accommodating sterilising of bottles. Nice lady in cafe gave my son a free teddy- a nice gesture. Would recommend and stay again.

The hotel is a very good choice for any business travel to Hamburg. My colleagues and me all really appreciated the comfort and location in regards to the proximity to the Hamburg conference center. The rooms are in good condition and kept very clean. However, it was a shame that the breakfast staff that greeted us to assign a table was largely unfriendly and the staff clearing the area was very slow when it came to clearing plates and offering coffee. I would stay again, but I wouldn't include the breakfast.

Good location
We were a large family group of children and adults the staff were very helpful and friendly and we all location on the same floor next to each other. The restaurant staff were very helpful with a large table to accommodate us all with good food. Everybody could relax.

Very Comfortable hotel. Good location as s-bahn is just a 5 min walk. One stop down from central station and S3 line has most of the major stations on. Staff are great.

We had a lovely comfortable room, a short walk from the nearest train station. All the staff were friendly and spoke English. Slight loss of points on cleanliness for finding a jelly bean under the bed that didn't belong to us! Would still recommend as good value for money

Good hotel, maybe more for businesss than leisure
Should maybe be titled 'city south' not city centre as it is a good 15-20 min walk to the centre, but a 5 min walk from s-Bahn which has good transport links to anywhere in Hamburg you'd want to go. Rooms nice, everything provided including free safe. Hotel lobby clean, coffee shop on site and good food available at reasonable prices.

Great hotel.
Hotel located just outside the immediate centre but only 10 min walk from central station and on a direct bus route too. Hotel is very well appointed, clean, well presented and the breakfasts are superb. Highly recommended and ideal for that city break.

A warm and welcoming hotel
Just a 10 minute walk from the central station and the high street. About 15 minutes from the bars and nightlife! Very pleased with our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful too!

I ended up staying here two days longer than expected. The staff is friendly. But that just meant they smiled as they dropped the ball. Our room was never cleaned. The shower didnt drain. Ask for more towels?..Be prepared to wait or go to the basement to get them yourself as I did. It's really a neat place. Just seems they are more concerned with the restaurant downstairs than the hotel portion . After I that u can't say I wouldn't stay here again. But there has to be better options.

The hotel overall is good, but right opposite an extremely noisy building site where they start work at 07:00. Also, the room decor needs updating a bit. Other than that, - good hotel and it's fairly easy to get to the city centre from it. Breakfast was very tasty!

Fantastic rooms, great staff.
This hotel was incredible. North American sized rooms, full amenities, great atmosphere - and a wonderful staff. It's a little bit off the beaten path in terms of getting to tourist attractions and whatnot, but it seemed that there were a lot of business types staying at the hotel. The bar / lounge was buzzing, and a great coffee shop is part of the property.

Great hotel within walking distance to center
We chose to stay at Mercure Hotel Hamburg City once again. The hotel is very nice. The service is great. They have a wonderful breakfast and great cocktails. If you do not feel like walking back into town, we recommend the hotel restaurant. You can easily walk into the town center in about 15 minutes. The hotel is by Mittel Kanal, which is very nice. You will not find shopping og dining in the immediate area, however. In Hamburg you do a lot of walking anyway!

Once again excellent !
We had stayed in Mercure in Rome few weeks earlier, so decided to do so again in Hamburg! Initially the location was a turn off on our final arrival, as we walked to the hotel from the station and being in a strange country it proofed hard to find! However with bus and train very near by we could reach centre 10-20 minutes max. once settled in!! Breakfast room and lobby staff very professional! Look forward to staying again in a Mercure !

Great Hotel in the city
This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The plus points included a great and varied breakfast, big comfortable rooms, nice decor and seamless check in and out. There isn't anything I can say needed to be improved. It is situated well for the city as it is on the outside edge so its easy enough to walk into the centre or catch a bus/train and is quiet. we travelled with two children and they supplied the beds and cribs which were very nice and comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. The staff were very nice. I would certainly stay here again.

Long Easter weekend away
We decided to go away over the Easter weekend and after looking at possible places to visit we settled on Hamburg. After looking around we found a combined flights and hotel deal and decided to go with it. The flights where through germanwings and the hotel the Mercury Hotel Hamburg City. Going of the hotels title 'city' we expected to be in the city centre but found that the hotel was on the very edge of the city centre with no services near by. While it might not seem far but it was at least a 20 minute walk before you reached the edge of the city centre and then another 15 minutes before you reached any shops.

Comfortable hotel
Although the hotel seems to be a bit on the outskirts of central Hamburg it is only a few minutes walk from two stations and an easy 15 minute walk from the main railway station and the edge of the main shopping area. The staff are very helpful, and provided a kettle to supplement the coffee machine in the room, as I needed to have decaffeinated tea or coffee. Don't expect good views from the rooms but there are plenty of other places for getting truly magnificent views . we had a most comfortable stay for 4 nights and would go back there. You must visit Miniatur Wunderland which is either an easy train ride to the harbour area or about a 30 minute walk.

We have stayed 2 nights in this hotel, the rooms has nice view on the river, and the rate 100 Eur was very suitable cause we have paid less and have stayed in a terrible hotel before this one, I recommend this one for business trip.
