Katafygio Studios are two luxury studios each accommodating 2 guests and having double bedroom, kitchen, breakfast bar, private bathroom and shared access to the individual terraces with views over the mountains and the beautifully peaceful bay of Assos.



These beautiful, boutique style studios are finished to the highest standard of style and comfort with air conditioning, luxury king size double beds with high quality mattresses,sleek modern kitchenette and separate bathroom.
Katafygio Studios enjoy a private location on a quiet village lane and yet offer breathtaking views and only a 2 min walk to the village, tavernas and beach.

*NEW ADDITION* There is a new family bakery opened in the village full of all the usual delights - and this is just 60 seconds from your front door!

Assos is the perfect place to relax and unwind but we would highly recommend renting a car if you plan to do a little exploring.

"When "PERFECT" sounds too poor, to describe our stay at Katafygio
During the tourist-busy time of August, my partner and I, chose to stay at Katafygio in Assos. We booked studio 1 (the one with the bigger terrace), and we couldn't have chosen a more PERFECT location. Situated in the picturesque hills of Assos, overlooking at the Assos bay and the castle, just a 1 min. walk from the seaside , Katafygio is THE IDEAL place to stay . The majority of the other properties in Assos, are situated really close to the main square and seaside, which is filled with tavernas and a cafe, that produce a lot of noise especially during peak hours noon and night. Katafygio on the other side, is situated in the Magical distance from the sea side. Not too far, and not too close. Just one minute away!! This makes the terrace with the mountain and sea view an absolute treat to stay, light the terrace candles and enjoy a calm, starlight, summer night! Perfection indeed. The studio itself is AMAZING. Every modern amenity, wifi, aircondition, full kitchen, fridge, an amazing bathroom. Did i mention the bed? super comfy bed and mattress and pillows of the ideal thickness that your neck will thank you next morning :) Every little detail that a guest might need, is already taken care by Dot and Steve ,that includes mini led flashlight, if you like night strolling, umbrellas, even a Beach bag to carry your stuff to the seaside!!!! The studio breathes an air of "Greece". The island house vibes are everywhere and the subtle details show the love and care that Steve and Dot share in order to make the guests' stay memorable! Assos, in my opinion is the best place to stay in Kefalonia and it is so close to the more elegant villages of the north, 10' mins drive from the world famous beach of Myrtos, Also, it is an amazing destination for Easter Holidays (mid to end of April). Charming Hidden Gem
SUV car to explore the island, as V roads test your nerves. Roads are great its the edges. Charming villages, pebble beaches and magical waters of turqoise. Beachshoes required!

We stayed in apartment 2, the outside area was in full sun most of the day and with temperatures at nearly 40degrees the only option was to stay indoors, there is no living space inside except the bed where you can sit comfortably , there are 2 barstools which are not comfortable to sit on for long. . It was clean and tidy, however I wouldn’t say it was boutique at all for the price.. the welcome pack was poor only 1 small bottle of water and 2 tiny bottles of beer. , some water, milk or juice would of been more practical. The booking options need to be more clearer so you can book either the smaller(2)or the larger outside area(1)so you know what your getting, the area and views were lovely, however with little shade I wasn’t able to sit out much to enjoy the viewsThe price reflects the location rather than the quality of the room. Owners were pleasant but felt a little micro managed with them at times. We went for our 30th anniversary and mentioned it in booking, no mention of it or any special treatment on the day. of been more suitable.

Heaven overlooking a beautiful beach
We have stayed at Katafygio before and could not wait to return. Steve and Dot prepare the studios to the highest level of design and cleanliness you can imagine. Your patio overlooks Assos Bay. The bedroom, kitchen and bathroom are spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need included. Absolute perfection !

Perfect spot!
This is a wonderful place to stay in the charming village of Assos. Dot and Steve are great hosts, very welcoming and have a wealth of local knowledge. The studio apartment is tastefully decorated with thought given to every detail and comfort. We particularly enjoyed the terrace with amazing views of the pretty harbour just a few minutes walk away.

Outstanding experience
From the moment that we checked in, we loved this place. Dot and Steve are very welcoming and gave us many suggestions of places to visit on the island. It is very helpful to have a rental car while staying in Assos. We ventured out most days to explore the beautiful beaches with warm turquoise water. The studio is absolutely lovely. The bed is very comfortable, something that we really appreciated. We stayed in studio #2 which we really enjoyed. The patio is a delightful place to oversee the town. There is a bakery just below the studio that we walked to each day and a small mini market. We loved our time there and highly recommend it.

Fabulous!
Dot and Steve were great hosts. There to meet us and on our departure and on hand whenever needed. Studio 1 is a delight. Loved the personal touches and the view of Assos bay from the balcony is wonderful. Assos itself is small but perfectly formed as they say - but if you like to get out and about car hire is essential. Great base for exploring the north of the island but we couldn’t resist a (long) trip to Mounda Beach in the south which is one of our favourites. Really can’t recommend Katafygio Studios enough - hopefully we’ll be back next year . Thanks Dot and Steve for a wonderful week

We absolutely loved our stay at Katafygio Studios - Dot and Steve are so welcoming and the perfect hosts. Great communication before during and after our stay, there if you need them. They have made the very best of every corner of the space and decorated it beautifully. We didn't want for anything, other than another couple of weeks holiday! The bed is super comfy, the linen is wonderful, the towels soft, the kitchen well equipped and the extras much appreciated. The balcony had amazing views of both the mountains and the sea - and got the sun almost all day. Dot and Steve are also great for reliable recommendations of places to eat etc. Assos itself is a gem. We didn't hire a car but took a taxi to Fiskardo and hired a boat locally for a day sight seeing the quiet beaches only accessible by boat. It's a great place to stay in a beautiful little town.

We return for very good reason…..
This was our third time at Katyfigio studios after an enforced break of 2 years. When we arrived to lovely little lights and lit lanterns a slate sign in shape of a heart said ‘Welcome home Paul and Caron’ . It was so lovely to be back . The studio was as beautiful as ever- with the attention to detail noticeable- crisp white sheets and fluffy towels, air con, and a mosquito bet which we didn’t need but others will welcome- the room with it’s attached perfect kitchen and bathroom complete the space.The shuttered windows open onto Assos bay. The terrace is spacious and private and we would often have a drink before dinner and breakfast sitting outside. The location of the studios is fantastic having not only one of the best views in Assos but also only a short walk int the village to the 3 restaurants, cafe, gift shops, supermarkets and bakery/coffee shop. Dot and Steve live above the studios and are willing to help with anything they can - it is a perfect place to relax and reset. Thanks Dot and Steve for another wonderful holiday!👌

Asos is just perfect!
We were given all the information we needed for both parking the car in the town and finding the property. Dot and Stephen were waiting to welcome us and show us how everything worked. Lovely room, bathroom, kitchenette and terrace. All we needed. Asos is small but that’s it’s charm. 5 tavernas to choose from,2 mini marts and a perfect little beach. We swam everyday, usually more than once which was easy as it was only 5 minutes walk from our terrace. Delicious bakery a few minutes down the steps so all in all - a super experience!

Just returned from 10 days at Katafygio Studios. Absolutely wonderful in every way! Steve and Dot are the most welcoming and helpful hosts. In a perfect location just 2 minutes walk from the waterside tavernas in Assos. Quiet and peaceful - and spotlessly clean -with a heavenly view of the bay. Loved that it's only a short drive to Fiscardo and near so many glorious beaches. Also great having such lovely tavernas so close by. Just the loveliest place to stay - and so brilliant being able to hear the waves as you go to sleep. I can't recommend highly enough. I will definitely return.
