We have hiked the Grand Canyon many times and always camped for our accommodations. This year we chose to stay at a hotel and Yavapia Lodge did not disappoint. I was not expecting very much for a national park hotel as the point is to enjoy the outdoors and utilize the hotel for showering and sleeping. I was pleasantly surprised how incredibly nice the hotel lobby and restaurants are at Yavapai Lodge and the desk clerk was kind and helpful. Contemporary, clean and not what I expected to find in a national park at an average price hotel. Our room was spacious, great linens, comfortable bed, clean, perfect heating/cooling, large TV and we loved the coffee/tea (with creamer!) and large mini-fridge. It was luxury after hiking rim to river in a day. My only suggestion is to replace the hallway carpet. It has seen it's time but it didn't bother us - only something I noticed that would make the place really shine. Parking is super convenient and having an ice machine was a bonus. Highly recommend this lodge to anyone that wants a great stay at a reasonable price within the Grand Canyon national park. We like camping but after this experience we are hooked on a hotel stay and will definitely be back!
